Seeing off the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu; Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha; Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Nguyen Vu Tung; representatives of the State Protocol Department (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Oh Young Ju.
During the visit, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol had many important activities: laying wreaths and visiting President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; paying a courtesy call to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; attending the official welcoming ceremony, holding talks, meeting the press with President Vo Van Thuong and witnessing the signing ceremony. The welcoming ceremony took place solemnly with 21 cannon salutes resounding with the national anthems of the two countries.
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol also met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
Along with that, President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vietnam-Korea Business Forum. The forum was attended by delegates who are leaders of ministries, branches, agencies, and organizations of Vietnam and Korea and more than 500 delegates representing associations, corporations, and businesses of the two countries.
At the receptions, talks and meetings, Vietnamese leaders welcomed the State visit of President Yoon Suk Yeol, his wife and the high-ranking Korean delegation to Vietnam, saying that the visit took place right after the two countries upgraded their relations to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" at the end of 2022, creating a new milestone, promoting the relationship between the two countries to continue to develop better with higher, deeper and better quality in the coming time.
Vietnamese leaders congratulated the Republic of Korea on its achievements in national construction and development, especially its economic recovery and growth after the pandemic; affirmed that Vietnam consistently supports the Republic of Korea in promoting a greater role in the region and the world.
President Yoon Suk Yeol thanked the State and People of Vietnam for their warm, respectful and thoughtful reception for the President, his wife and the high-ranking delegation of the Republic of Korea; congratulated Vietnam on its achievements, including maintaining high economic growth in the context of the general difficulties of the global economy. The President affirmed that the Republic of Korea consistently attaches importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership between the Republic of Korea and Vietnam, considering Vietnam a key partner and a priority direction in implementing policies in the region.
The two sides agreed that, in the more than 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the relationship between the two countries has made remarkable progress with important milestones, from Comprehensive Partnership in 2001 to Strategic Partnership in 2009 and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022.

In the spirit of the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the two sides agreed to build political relations and defense and security cooperation with a higher level of trust and substance; continue to maintain regular visits and contacts at high and all levels in many flexible forms; regularly exchange and share the situation in each country and international and regional issues of mutual concern.
The two sides agreed to bring substantive cooperation in all fields to a new level, deeper and more effective; agreed to coordinate to effectively implement the Vietnam-China Free Trade Agreement (VKFTA) and practical measures to facilitate businesses of the two countries. The two sides will coordinate to promote the early completion of the goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover to 100 billion USD and towards the target of 150 billion USD by 2030 in a balanced and sustainable manner.
The two sides also discussed the world and regional situation. They agreed to continue to strengthen close cooperation, support each other at international forums, and coordinate in responding to global challenges and non-traditional security issues.
After the talks, President Vo Van Thuong, President Yoon Suk Yeol and high-ranking representatives of the two countries witnessed the exchange of 17 cooperation documents in many fields by relevant agencies of the two countries.
During his State visit to Vietnam, President Yoon Suk Yeol had a number of activities such as: visiting and talking with students of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture, University of Foreign Languages (Vietnam National University, Hanoi); meeting 300 representatives of the Korean community who have been living and working in Vietnam; meeting with Korean businesses investing in Vietnam. The President's wife also visited a number of cultural and historical establishments of the country and people of Vietnam.
The visit to Vietnam by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol is the first state visit to Vietnam by South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Vietnam is also the first Southeast Asian country that President Yoon Suk Yeol has visited since taking office in May 2022. The visit is an important milestone, creating new momentum for cooperation between the two countries in all key areas.
