Mr Zelenskyy said the US could be drawn into a larger conflict in Europe with Russia if Washington did not step up its support.

US President Joe Biden, a Democrat, has pressed Congress to pass a $106 billion supplemental spending bill, with the bulk of the money going to bolster Ukraine’s defenses and the rest split between Israel, the Indo- Pacific region and border enforcement.
Instead, the Republican-led US House of Representatives has introduced its own funding plan. Last week, the House passed a $14.3 billion aid bill for Israel that did not include any aid for Ukraine.
US Senator Chuck Schumer, the majority leader in the Democratic-controlled Senate, said he would not bring the House bill to a vote and Mr Biden has vowed to veto it if it passes.
In an interview broadcast on November 5, Mr. Zelenskyy invited former US President Donald Trump, a Republican, to visit Ukraine and witness the consequences of the conflict.
Mr Trump, who is seeking re-election in 2024 and is a leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination, has sharply criticised US support for Kiev and said he could end the war in 24 hours if re-elected.
“If he could come here, I would need only… 24 minutes to explain to Mr. Trump that he cannot turn this war around as he said,” Mr. Zelenskyy said.
