The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced the list of higher education institutions that have been evaluated and recognized as meeting educational quality standards (data updated to August 31). The results of the evaluation of higher education institutions according to domestic standards have a total of 200 schools, and according to foreign standards with 17 schools.
2 private universities in the top 10 of domestic quality standards
For the assessment of education quality according to domestic standards, most schools have been assessed in the second cycle (V2), right after the previous assessment cycle expired.
The results of the average score assessment of the 4 areas (strategic quality assurance; system quality assurance; functional quality assurance; performance results).
The Ministry of Education and Training noted that before the certificate of educational quality accreditation expires, schools need to proactively develop and implement a self-assessment plan, select an educational quality accreditation organization according to regulations to continue to be assessed and recognized as meeting educational quality standards in the next cycle; ensuring that the regulation on the accreditation cycle of educational institutions and training programs is 5 years.

Analyzing the results of the university education quality assessment (V2), it can be seen thatFPT University (private) is outstanding and balanced in all 4 criteria. FPT University affirms its No. 1 position with an average V2 score of 4.63/5.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH - private) has an advantage in system quality assurance (4.46) but is weaker in strategy (4.08).
Up to 5/10 of the top 10 schools are in the medical and pharmaceutical sector. Of which, Hanoi University of Pharmacy stands out in the results criterion (4.60). Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Hanoi University of Pharmacy continue to maintain their position in the health sector, with average scores of 4.39 and 4.28 respectively. These are institutions with a long-standing training tradition, now reinforced by a modern quality management system.
The University of Natural Sciences - Ho Chi Minh City National University and HUTECH ranked behind, with average scores of over 4.25, demonstrating the strength of the basic science school block and the non-public application-oriented block.
In terms of differences in criteria between schools, it can be seen that:
" Strategy " criterion: FPT University achieved 4.72, the highest in the top 10, showing a clear development orientation, long-term vision and international standard governance.
Criterion " System ": HUTECH stands out (4.46) demonstrating synchronous investment in facilities, administration, and quality assurance system.
Criterion " Function performance ": Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, FPT University and University of Science - Ho Chi Minh City National University all scored above 4.25, demonstrating good teaching - research - community service capacity.
Criterion " Results ": Hanoi University of Pharmacy achieved 4.60, demonstrating outstanding output efficiency (scientific research, graduates, social contributions).
17 universities meet international quality standards
To date, Vietnam has 17 higher education institutions that have achieved educational quality according to foreign standards with valid certificates.
Thus, the number of higher education institutions and training programs meeting quality accreditation standards, especially international standards, has increased significantly compared to the previous school year (from 11 to 17).
