The movement "Building a cultural life in residential areas", including increasing the rate of families meeting the "Cultural Family" standards in the city, has been strongly spread in recent years.
When mentioning the family of Mr. Bui To Vi (84 years old) - Mrs. Nguyen Thi Vang (80 years old), people in Ha Loi Ha 2 neighborhood (Trang An ward) all expressed their respect and admiration for the city's typical cultural family, a model to learn from and follow. They are party members, 2 of their three children are successful, holding high positions in the army; the family is always at the forefront of movements launched by the locality. Mr. Vi confided: "The homeland and country are developing day by day, people's lives are improving both materially and spiritually. My family is very excited, hoping that Dong Trieu homeland will develop more and more in all aspects. My family always supports and contributes our best to that development". Mr. Vi's family is one of hundreds of typical cultural families of the city in recent years that have been recognized and commended by the province and city.
In recent years, implementing the program of building a model new rural area and urban development, the face of the city has really changed, along with a strong change in building cultural life. Village roads, alleys, and neighborhoods are always spacious, clean, and beautiful with the criteria of green - clean - beautiful - civilized. That is the sense of responsibility of each individual and family in implementing the criteria of a cultural family and a cultural residential area.
The Steering Committee of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" of the city is always closely involved in directing the construction and implementation of the criteria of cultural families and cultural residential areas. The policy is to build a healthy cultural environment in all areas of social life, suitable to the actual conditions of the locality, associated with the implementation of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life". The method is to combine the above work with the construction of many models, praising good people, good deeds, and advanced examples to create a spread. The models are implemented in many areas: Poverty reduction, economic development, loans, building happy families, studious families... integrated from programs launched by organizations, and have been effective.
The city pays attention to building a comprehensively developed human being, focusing on fostering patriotism, national pride, ethics, and lifestyle. The province's code of conduct, associated with the criteria for assessing and recognizing the titles of cultural families and cultural residential areas, is also a decisive factor in the effectiveness of the movement. According to the review, in 2024, the city had 1,035 weddings and 1,238 funerals, all of which implemented a good cultural and civilized lifestyle.
Ms. Do Thi Ha, Head of the City's Department of Culture and Information, said: In recent times, the city has effectively implemented family work and building cultural families with many practical activities. Preserving and promoting the nation's fine traditional values has always been a focus. Anniversary days such as International Day of Happiness March 20, Vietnamese Family Day June 28, Action Month against Domestic Violence, etc. have been promoted in many forms, contributing to mobilizing all classes of people to respond to building happy families.
In 2024, the city had 48,510/49,369 families achieving the title of cultural family, reaching 98.13%. This is the most obvious result associated with the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" implemented in recent years; contributing significantly to making Dong Trieu the 5th city of the province.
