Ho Chi Minh City: Honoring more than 300 typical collectives and individuals in studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings

On May 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to review 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05 CT/TW of the Politburo and commend collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle in the period 2016 - 2025.

Attending the conference were Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairwoman of the City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City Nguyen Phuoc Loc; Head of Department 3 of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Huy Ngoc.

Also attending were members and former members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; Standing Committee of the City People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front; representatives of leaders of the City's departments, branches and sectors, and typical examples with outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in the period 2016-2025.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that right after the liberation of the South, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee identified studying and following Uncle Ho's example as a key task to build, educate and train the cadre team.

Through many stages, especially since 2016, when the Politburo issued Directive No. 05-CT/TW, Ho Chi Minh City has proactively and seriously implemented it, identifying it as a key content in Party building in terms of politics, ideology and ethics.

In the 11th term, 2020 - 2025 term of the City Party Committee, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle continued to be promoted, associated with the implementation of the City Party Committee's Action Program on "Building Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space", making studying and following Uncle Ho a widespread revolutionary action movement, spreading strongly in the political system, among the people and in all areas of social life.

According to Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi, after nearly 10 years of implementing the study and following of Uncle Ho's ideology, moral example and style, the city has achieved many proud results. Up to now, studying and following Uncle Ho has further promoted the tradition of solidarity, humanity and affection of the city's people and has truly become the way of thinking and working of cadres, party members, union members, association members and all classes of people in Ho Chi Minh City. Thereby, it has greatly contributed to the overall development of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.

In the period of 2016 - 2025, Ho Chi Minh City has had 748 new models, good practices, 409 breakthrough and creative contents in practice, bringing practical effects to society.

Along with that, build and form 5,676 institutions and models of Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space in agencies, units, offices, schools, residential areas, religious establishments, in cultural and artistic activity spaces and even in cyberspace.

At the same time, there are 1,334 collectives, 2,030 typical individuals at the city level and 12,850 collectives, 24,300 individuals at the district level and on that basis have been voted and commended from this movement.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee affirmed that the 341 outstanding collectives and individuals honored today are beautiful flowers in the fragrant flower garden of the city; a part of thousands of outstanding examples who always contribute, silently sacrifice, and shine in everyday life, extremely worthy of respect.

Each collective and individual has demonstrated will, determination to overcome difficulties, extraordinary perseverance, creativity, daring to think, daring to do, overcoming challenges, and excellently completing tasks.

Ho Chi Minh City, together with the whole country, is preparing to confidently enter a new era of development with many key and urgent tasks that need to be carried out. In particular, we must concentrate our efforts and focus on completing the goals and tasks set forth in the Resolution of the 11th City Party Congress.

Urgently focus on seriously, resolutely and effectively implementing the organization and apparatus arrangement of the city's political system to be streamlined, strong, efficient, effective and efficient; arranging administrative units at provincial and communal levels, organizing two-level local governments and many other key tasks.

With heavy tasks and very high requirements, the leaders of the City Party Committee requested that the entire political system of the City must uphold the spirit of responsibility with the highest determination, maintain discipline, promote pioneering spirit, set an example in the leadership team, especially the head, and must put collective interests above personal interests.

Along with that, strengthen and promote the great national solidarity; the joint efforts and consensus of society, the business community, all levels, all sectors, our compatriots at home and abroad to together determine to build Ho Chi Minh City rich, prosperous, civilized, modern, and humane.

During that journey, we expect and believe that studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style and building Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space with many practical methods and models will continue to be promoted more strongly and spread more widely in the coming years.

According to the report of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, after 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW, the City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee have focused on leading, directing, proactively implementing in a timely manner, close to the target, in accordance with the direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, in conjunction with the implementation of the Central resolutions, the political tasks of the sectors, localities, agencies and units. At the same time, promptly and effectively resolving urgent and outstanding issues of concern to the people; focusing on implementing breakthrough programs according to the Resolution of the City Party Congress.

New, creative and effective ways of doing things, typical collectives and individuals in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style have created practical, concrete, authentic and convincing models, becoming the motivation for many cadres, party members, members and people in striving, studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, creating vibrant emulation movements, contributing significantly to the implementation of political tasks in each locality, agency, unit and profession.
