Ho Chi Minh City announces 10th grade exam locations

On the morning of May 23, the Departmentof Education and Training (GD&DT) of Ho Chi Minh City announced a list of 158 exam sites for grade 10 admission in the 2024-2025 school year. Most of these exam sites are located in secondary schools, with only more than 10 exam sites located in high schools in the area.

According to the plan, the entrance exam for grade 10 this year will take place on June 6 and 7. Candidates will take three compulsory subjects: Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language. If candidates register for the specialized and integrated programs, they will take additional specialized and integrated subjects.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training estimates that the number of 9th grade students taking the secondary school graduation exam will be 114,933 (including secondary school and general education). The total number of candidates who have registered for the exam is 98,681. Thus, 16,252 students did not register for the exam but chose another path after graduating from secondary school. The number of candidates expected to pass the high school entrance exam in the area is more than 77,000, including the number of newly added quotas.

From May 25 to 30, secondary schools will distribute registration forms to students who have registered for the 10th grade entrance exam. On June 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the list of candidates who will be directly admitted to public 10th grade schools.

The exam results are expected to be announced on June 20. From June 21 to 24, candidates can apply for a review of their exam results. From June 25 to 29, candidates admitted to specialized, integrated, and direct grade 10 will confirm their enrollment. On July 10, the Department of Education and Training will announce the benchmark scores and list of candidates admitted to grade 10 at public high schools.

The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City always receives the attention of many parents, students and schools due to its competitive nature. This year, the pressure of this exam is said to have not decreased compared to previous years.
