Ho Chi Minh City approves study of Phu My 2 bridge with capital of more than 12,900 billion VND

Masterise Group was assigned to study the Phu My 2 bridge project under the PPP model, with a length of 6.3 km, 8 lanes, connecting Nguyen Huu Tho Street (HCMC) and Dong Nai.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has approved the assignment of Masterise Group Corporation (Masterise Group) to research and prepare a report proposing investment policies for the Phu My 2 Bridge construction project. This project is proposed to be implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) method with a total preliminary investment of about more than VND 12,900 billion.

Expected size and specifications

According to the initial proposal of Masterise Group, the Phu My 2 bridge project has the following main parameters:

• Connection location: Starting point at Nguyen Huu Tho street (HCMC) and ending point at inter-port road ( Dong Nai province).
• Total length: About 6.3 km.
• Cross-section scale: The route is designed with 8 lanes to meet increasing traffic demand.
• Total preliminary investment: Estimated over 12,900 billion VND.

The role of Masterise and the investment process

According to the approval of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Masterise Group will balance its own budget to conduct research and prepare a report proposing investment policies, without using the city budget for this phase. The deadline to complete the report and submit it to the competent authority is 12 months.

It is important to note that the assignment of the research dossier does not bind the appointment of Masterise Group as the official investor. After the report is approved, Ho Chi Minh City will organize the selection of investors to implement the project in accordance with current law, ensuring competitiveness and transparency.

In case the project is not approved by the competent authority or Masterise Group has not completed the proposal within 12 months, the company will bear all costs incurred.

The importance of interregional connectivity

Phu My 2 Bridge is identified as one of the key traffic projects, playing an important role in strengthening the connection between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province. Previously, in October 2025, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee had a document agreeing with Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the necessity of investing in the construction of this project, and agreed to let Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee be the competent authority to implement the project.
