The 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2025 - 2030, took place in the context of the city promoting digital transformation, administrative reform and operating a two-level government model.

The orientations and policies adopted at the Congress are expected to create new momentum for the work of national solidarity, connecting the government with the people, aiming at the goal of sustainable development and for the happiness of the people.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will carry out tasks closely following three core policy groups, including: Policies for people with meritorious services, social security and social protection. This is the foundation for the Front to practically care for people's lives and protect the legitimate rights and interests of target groups in society. On that basis, the Front will promote social criticism, improve the quality of campaigns and strengthen coordination with the government to build Ho Chi Minh City to develop sustainably, with love and happiness.

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc also emphasized the guiding spirit of General Secretary To Lam: "The strength of the Front is the strength of the people; solidarity to improve people's lives" and all decisions of the new term will be concretized from the strategic orientation of the Central Committee and the Politburo on digital transformation, science and technology, international integration, private economic development, education, health care... in accordance with the development requirements of Ho Chi Minh City in the period 2025 - 2030 and vision 2045.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, this Congress has special significance, as it fully reflects the will and aspirations of member organizations and the people of the city. In the context that Ho Chi Minh City is both organizing the Congress and implementing activities to support people in the Central and Northern regions to overcome natural disasters, the fact that the Congress is still taking place on schedule shows the sense of responsibility, determination and solidarity of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front system.

From a practical perspective, Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Front has achieved many remarkable results in the past term, thanks to the joint efforts and consensus of the people, ethnic and religious compatriots and the broad social consensus. In the context of the City adjusting the organization and operation model of the two-level government, the great national solidarity bloc continues to be an important foundation, helping Ho Chi Minh City overcome difficulties and strongly spread the spirit of Ho Chi Minh City's humanity.

That result comes from the close direction of the City Party Committee, the synchronous coordination of authorities at all levels and especially the pioneering and exemplary role of the Front cadres from the city to the grassroots and residential areas. Thanks to that, many patriotic emulation campaigns and movements have received strong support from the people.

Ho Chi Minh City has played a good role in social security even though it is a large urban area, where many cultural regions and many people live and work together.

Therefore, according to Ms. Bich Hanh, in the new term, the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front aims to continue diversifying forms of people's gathering, improving the quality of emulation movements, promoting democracy and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people.

Ms. Hanh emphasized that social security work will continue to be focused on so that the development of the City is closely linked to the happiness of each citizen. Along with that, the system of Fatherland Fronts at all levels will improve the quality of social criticism on draft policies directly related to people's lives, ensuring that when issued, policies "bring the breath of life". Supervision work will also be strengthened, especially in the service attitude of civil servants and the progress of key projects. People's satisfaction continues to be an important measure of policy effectiveness.

Join hands to practically care for the people

Regarding social security policies, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to focus on key tasks such as expanding housing support for low-income people, improving the quality of primary health care and public schools, and developing cultural institutions to serve workers and laborers. All social security programs must aim to reduce the gap in benefits between regions, ensure social equity, and create conditions for people to develop sustainably.
