At the meeting, Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung suggested that the two sides continue to promote cooperation projects to practically implement the common perceptions of the Senior Leaders during recent visits, especially the areas of cooperation stated in the "Vietnam-China Joint Statement on continuing to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, promoting the building of a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance" during the State visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam in April 2025.

According to Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung, Guangzhou is one of the economic development drivers of Guangdong province and the Greater Bay Area with many advantages and experience in infrastructure construction, production ecosystems, social security systems, healthcare and education, and these are all areas of great interest to Vietnam.

At the same time, the Consul General thanked the leaders of Guangzhou City for attending the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification held in Ho Chi Minh City recently. This is also an opportunity for Vietnam to express its gratitude to international friends who have supported Vietnam in the cause of national liberation and national construction.

For his part, Deputy Mayor of Guangzhou Lai Zhihong highly appreciated and thanked the Consulate General for actively arranging the program of activities for the City's working delegation in March 2025 and the program of visiting, working, and attending the parade of Mayor Ton Chi Duong in April 2025.

In the coming time, to practically celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year, the leaders of Guangzhou City hope that Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung and the Consulate General will continue to support and promote cooperation programs in three areas: urban railway; healthcare; people-to-people exchange, especially the implementation of the "red journey of research and study" program launched by General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary To Lam last April.

Regarding the urban railway sector, Guangzhou City Vice Mayor Lai Zhihong introduced the advantages in capital, technology and operational experience of large corporations such as Guangzhou Metro in building urban railway systems in China.

Based on Guangzhou’s 30 years of experience, urban railway construction will play an important role in the development of suburban areas of major cities. In the context that major cities in Vietnam are promoting the construction of suburban areas and urban railway systems, this will be an area with great potential for cooperation between the two sides.

In the field of health care, to implement the results of the working trips of the Guangzhou City Leaders to Vietnam, in addition to the field of traditional medicine, Guangzhou City and the Vietnamese Ministry of Health are currently considering expanding cooperation in the field of modern medicine, specifically building a home Uremia treatment system for patients.

Accordingly, the Chinese side will support the donation of equipment, training of experts, operation instructions, maintenance, etc. In addition, Guangzhou City expressed its willingness to create favorable conditions to support medical examination and treatment for Vietnamese officials.

In addition, in order to effectively implement a series of humanistic exchange activities to connect people and practically contribute to strengthening the social foundation of Vietnam-China friendship, since April 2025, Guangzhou City has established a "priority flow" for Vietnamese tourists to visit "red addresses" in the locality. Vietnamese tourists will be given priority in arranging a visit schedule with professional tour guides and a system of signs in Vietnamese.

In the coming time, Guangzhou City hopes to work with the Consulate General to increase the promotion of the “red journey” and these “red addresses” so that more Vietnamese and Chinese people can visit and study, thereby helping to increase mutual understanding and friendship between the people, especially between the young generations of the two countries.

Consul General Nguyen Viet Dung thanked the Guangzhou City Leaders for their substantive cooperation proposals in the two areas mentioned in the Joint Statement of the Senior Leaders and their efforts to maintain, preserve and facilitate Vietnamese people to visit and study at the “red addresses” in Guangzhou. The Consul General hoped that both sides would step up propaganda work and move towards organizing more summer camps and courses for the youth of the two countries to enhance traditional education.

The Consul General also expressed his belief that with the technological and engineering strengths of Guangzhou and the development potential of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, these will be pairs of localities with much room to promote cooperation in various fields, including urban railways. In addition, cooperation in the field of medicine and health care is also very meaningful and will bring practical benefits to the Vietnamese people, especially those in remote areas.

As a bridge between agencies, departments, sectors and localities of the two sides, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Guangzhou will continue to promote cooperation activities in many fields; connect many Vietnamese organizations and enterprises to visit and learn from China's development experience; and introduce investment opportunities for Guangzhou enterprises in Vietnam. The Consul General also hopes that cooperation projects between Guangzhou enterprises and Vietnamese partners will become models in the win-win cooperation relationship between Vietnam and China.
