The contest had more than 30 contestants from 10 wards and communes of the city. Each unit participated in the contest with 2-4 vọng cổ and cải lương performances in solo and duet genres, each performance had 3 vọng cổ verses or more.
The contestants brought 30 vọng cổ and cải lương performances to the contest. The content of the performances revolved around the theme of praising the resilient and indomitable spirit in the struggle to protect the Fatherland, the achievements in building the homeland during the country's renovation period; protecting the land and villages to form the land of Tây Ninh today so that Tây Ninh can steadily move forward on the path of integration and development; praising the leadership of the Party, beloved Uncle Ho, the love for the homeland, the country and the Vietnamese people...
According to the general assessment of the Organizing Committee, this year's contest has many good voices, better quality than previous years. The units choose songs to compete with content suitable to the theme given by the Organizing Committee.
The performance "On the new countryside" by Ward IV won first prize in the duet category.
In the final results, in the solo category, the first prize went to the performance “Uncle Ho is the belief in certain victory” by contestant Nguyen Thi My Le - Ward 3; in the duet category, the first prize went to the performance “On the new rural area” by two contestants Minh Ly - Thien Kieu from Ward IV.
Ms. Lam Thu Huong - Director of the City's Center for Culture, Sports and Broadcasting awarded first prize in the solo category.
The contest is an opportunity for exchange and sharing of experiences between Cai Luong artists, improving the quality of the Don Ca Tai Tu movement; thereby discovering and nurturing core members in the cultural and artistic movement at the grassroots level.
