Thai Nguyen City: Continued discovery of more than 2 tons of pork of unknown origin

At 9:30 a.m. on October 24, the Working Group of the Economic Police Team (Thai Nguyen City Police) inspected the frozen food storage warehouse at Group 6, Tuc Duyen Ward, owned by Mr. Tran The Dong (born in 1983, permanent residence at Group 7, Trung Vuong Ward).

The working group discovered in the warehouse over 2.2 tons of bones and pork of various types that showed signs of discoloration and gave off an unpleasant odor.

During the inspection, the Working Group discovered 2.2 tons of bones and pork meat in the warehouse that had changed color and emitted an unpleasant odor. Working with the authorities, Mr. Tran The Dong confessed that he bought the meat to sell at the markets for profit.

At the time of inspection, Mr. Dong could not present documents proving the origin of the meat. The working group drew up a record to temporarily detain all the infringing evidence for verification, clarification, and handling according to the provisions of law.

Authorities weighed the pork at the warehouse.

Thus, from September 2023 to present, functional forces in the province have discovered 3 cases of transporting and trading "dirty" pork with a total weight of about 7 tons.
