Thu Dau Mot City: Honoring families and individuals who donate blood voluntarily many times

(BDO) On July 4, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation (VBD), Thu Dau Mot City Red Cross Society (RCS) held a conference to review the association's work and the RBC movement in the first 6 months of 2023; honor and reward families and individuals with 5, 10, and 15 voluntary blood donation achievements.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, President of the Provincial Red Cross Association, awarded certificates of merit from the People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot City to families with many achievements in Red Cross activities.

In the first 6 months of 2023, the City Red Cross Society organized 35 "Zero-VND Market" sessions to care for more than 15,000 disadvantaged people in need of assistance. The "Zero-VND Kitchen" model implemented by the City Red Cross Society at all levels continues to be effective and widely replicated, with a total implementation value of more than 9 billion VND. In addition to social charity work, the City Red Cross Society has advised the City's Blood Donation Mobilization Steering Committee to effectively carry out propaganda and mobilize cadres, members and people to actively participate in blood donation. As a result, in the past 6 months, the city has mobilized 2,647/3,500 blood units (reaching 75% of the target assigned for the year).

At the conference, the Provincial and City Red Cross Movement Steering Committee honored 48 families and 160 individuals who had donated 5, 10, and 15 times. On this occasion, the Provincial Red Cross Association presented gifts to encourage families and individuals who had donated 5, 10, and 15 times, with a total value of 80 million VND.
