Ho Chi Minh City adjusts plan to renovate and rebuild old apartment buildings

The Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a document announcing the conclusion of Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong at a meeting on the implementation of renovation and reconstruction of old, damaged and degraded apartment buildings in Ho Chi Minh City.

Through review, the implementation of the project to renovate and rebuild old, damaged and degraded apartment buildings in Ho Chi Minh City has been slower than the assigned deadline, and at the same time, some new situations have arisen when rearranging administrative units.

Therefore, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to review legal regulations on renovation and reconstruction of old apartment buildings; advise on adjusting and supplementing Plan 4207/KH-UBND of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on implementing the Project on renovation and reconstruction of damaged and degraded old apartment buildings in the area (Plan 4207).

Assign the Department of Construction to make a list of apartment buildings that need to be inspected and submit it to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for consideration and decision; promptly send a document to the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to guide the unification of the budget estimate for apartment building inspection; preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to review and prioritize the repair of apartment buildings according to Plan 4207; ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
