On July 18, a delegation of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2024 led by Ms. Pham Thi Kim Hoa, Director of the Department of Information and Culture, State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs ) came to exchange with Ha Tinh youth.

At Thien Cam beach, the delegation of the Vietnam Summer Camp and Ha Tinh youth participated in group games. Group activities, exchanges and conversations helped young Vietnamese people abroad promote patriotism, national pride, maintain close relationships with their homeland and country, and work together with young people in the country for a prosperous Vietnam.

Nguyen Thanh Truc, 16 years old, from Thanh Hoa, a Russian expatriate, shared: This trip back to my homeland is very meaningful to me. This is an opportunity for me to learn more about my roots, visit historical sites, tourist attractions in Vietnam and meet many young people in my homeland Vietnam - people who are very close, friendly and talented.

For Ngo Thi Thu Lan, 22 years old, from Hanoi, born and raised in the beautiful country of Poland, this return to Vietnam helps her feel more clearly about her roots and origins.

I got to travel through many countrysides, visit historical sites, scenic spots, meet people with different accents but always with bright smiles, making me love the people and country of Vietnam even more. After this trip, I will continue to spread beautiful images of tourism, people, and country of Vietnam.

The delegates of the Vietnam Summer Camp all expressed and sent a message to overseas Vietnamese youth around the world: if you have the opportunity, take the time to return to your homeland to experience for yourself the roots, the country, and the people of Vietnam.

During the program, the delegation of overseas Vietnamese youth from the Vietnam Summer Camp 2024 visited, interacted with and presented gifts to children being raised at the Ha Tinh Orphanage. The gifts from overseas Vietnamese youth contributed to encouraging and motivating the orphans to overcome their circumstances, strive to study and become useful people for society.

Vietnam Summer Camp is an annual event organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) since 2003, creating conditions for the young generation of overseas Vietnamese around the world to learn about the traditions, culture and history of the nation and to exchange and strengthen solidarity.

This year’s theme is “A Country Full of Joy,” with the participation of 120 delegates from 28 countries and territories. These are outstanding students with good academic achievements, contributing to the youth, student or community movement towards their homeland, aged 16-24.

The program is expected to take place from July 14 to 29 in many localities across the three regions of the North, Central and South, including: Hanoi, Phu Tho, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and Ho Chi Minh City./.
