Solemn procession, enshrinement and worship of Buddha Shakyamuni's relics at Tam Chuc Pagoda

On the morning of May 17, the relics of Buddha Sakyamuni were carried from Quan Su Pagoda (Hanoi) to Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam). The schedule for the procession of Buddha relics from Quan Su Pagoda followed Giai Phong Street, Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway to Liem Tuyen Toll Station. The Organizing Committee arranged about 30 model cars and flower cars for the procession. The procession passed through Liem Chinh Bridge - Le Duan Street - Doi Tam Empty Square - Le Cong Thanh Street - Bien Hoa Street - Old National Highway 1A - Tran Phu Street - Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee - Hong Phu Bridge - Ly Thuong Kiet Street to Tam Chuc Pagoda. On the routes the procession passed, many people, Buddhists and tourists happily welcomed it.

At around 9 o'clock, the procession carrying the Buddha's relics arrived at the outer gate of Tam Chuc Pagoda. Here, thousands of Buddhists and people with sincere hearts joined the procession to welcome the Buddha's relics around Tam Chuc Lake. The sky was filled with national flags, Buddhist flags, festival flags, and the bustling sound of dragon and lion drums following the procession, bringing a joyful atmosphere to the sacred pagoda.

At 10:30 a.m., the Buddha's relics were brought to the Tam The Temple. Attending the procession and enshrinement ceremony at the Tam The Temple were comrades: Nguyen Thi Doan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education ; Truong Quoc Huy, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Dinh Thi Lua, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Member of the Council of Witnesses, Permanent Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; Most Venerable Thich Quang Ha, Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments, branches, and organizations of the province, along with a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people inside and outside the province. After the enshrinement ceremony, Tam Chuc Pagoda opened its doors free of charge for people and Buddhists to visit and worship the Buddha's relics.

In addition to the people and Buddhists in the province, there are many convoys of vehicles from neighboring provinces bringing Buddhists to pay homage to the relics. Although there are many people and tourists coming to pay homage to the Buddha's relics, everyone patiently and seriously lines up to wait for their turn. According to estimates from the Organizing Committee, during the days when the Buddha's relics are enshrined at Tam Chuc Pagoda, there will be about 40,000 - 70,000 Buddhists and tourists coming to pay homage each day.

During the days of the festival, in addition to worshiping the Buddha's relics, Buddhists, people and tourists can also experience many other cultural activities such as celebrating the Vesak 2025 at the Vesak International Convention Center (May 18) with the participation of venerable monks, scholars, and Buddhists from home and abroad; planting the Compassion tree to nurture wisdom at the Compassion Nursery (May 19); a night of flower lanterns to pray for national peace and prosperity and to pay tribute at Tam Quan Noi (night of May 19); experiencing a pilgrimage on the path of seeking enlightenment, participating in a vegetarian food festival, etc.
