Kieu Huong Art Center (Phu Ly city) has been established for about 10 years and always has hundreds of students studying. It is known that the unit currently has 2 facilities in Phu Ly, teaching many gifted subjects for children such as: dancing, MC, body shaping, piano, vocal music, fine arts. Most of the students studying at the center stay long-term, not just studying during the summer. Currently, the center maintains 12 classes, attracting about 200 students, many of whom have been with the center for many years. During the summer vacation, the number of students at the center increases slightly, about 50 students.
Ms. Kieu Huong, Director of Kieu Huong Art Center, shared: Most families who send their children to study at the center are determined to study long-term, with the aim of creating an environment for their children to express their abilities, develop life skills, and be confident; at the same time, helping their children participate in attractive entertainment and sports activities, suitable for their age. Some families also have calculations, investments and orientations for their children to continue on a professional path in the future if they see that their children have talent and love for the art they are studying. Currently, there is a student of the center who is a third-year student of the Department of Mass Choreography, University of Theater and Cinema. This year, another student of the center also took the entrance exam to the University of Theater and Cinema. In addition to having quality and suitable curriculum, enthusiastic teaching from teachers, the center also regularly lets students participate in competitions in and outside the province so that they have the opportunity to rub shoulders and improve their abilities, and have the motivation to strive. Almost every year, the center participates in competitions organized by central and local television stations, functional departments, art clubs, etc. and always wins high prizes.
Nguyen Pham Ngan Anh, 7 years old, living in Le Hong Phong ward (Phu Ly city) is a student who has been attached to the center since she was over 2 years old. Ngan Anh is considered a "child" talent of the center when she won many awards in central and local competitions. Mr. Le Van Luan, Ngan Anh's grandfather, said: When she was 2 years old, her family encountered an incident so I took her home to raise. At that time, she was shy and very hesitant in communication. Through an introduction, I sent her to Kieu Huong Art Center to participate in some art classes. Here, she was taught enthusiastically by teachers, skillfully encouraged, so she gradually became active again and increasingly demonstrated her artistic abilities, especially in dancing and fashion shows. After nearly 5 years of studying at the center, she has achieved many achievements, the family is extremely happy and excited. Through studying gifted subjects, she has changed from a shy girl to an active, confident girl, discovering her own abilities. For now, the family will let her develop naturally, considering studying art subjects as a relaxing time for her after school hours. Later, when she grows up and likes a subject, the family will let her decide to study at a higher level to follow a professional path.
Ms. Ngo Thi Hong Thanh, an art teacher at Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School, is passionate about teaching and developing children's painting skills. Ms. Thanh shared: Every child is an artist, because their souls are innocent and pure, looking at things and phenomena with a very special perspective. Learning to draw, children are like "drawing and telling stories", "drawing and singing". Each level of emotion will produce a different drawing... It is said that this subject is like a high-dose treatment method for emotional balance exercises and balanced development of the two hemispheres of the brain.
With that in mind, Ms. Thanh instills a love of art and arouses interest and passion for this art form in students. Along with teaching at Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School, she also runs the school's art club with many rich, attractive, and useful activities, attracting a large number of students to participate. In addition, Ms. Thanh also opened 5 drawing classes for children aged 5-18 in Phu Ly. Not only teaching to foster talent, she also teaches students to review for university entrance exams. Ms. Thanh added: Learning to draw for children, first of all, allows them to express their abilities in the field of painting, but it is also a meaningful relaxing activity for children after stressful hours of studying. Through studying, if any child has outstanding talent and a love for art and painting, I will guide them to continue pursuing the field of art or related to art.
In theeducational programs of all levels, the teaching of some art subjects for students is also structured and organized systematically. Accordingly, schools have maintained many extracurricular activities for students to demonstrate their abilities; functional sectors also have activities to create playgrounds for children to demonstrate their talents. In particular, the development of private art centers and clubs with thorough investment in facilities, training equipment, staff, teaching quality, and active participation in competitions inside and outside the province has contributed significantly to improving the quality of teaching gifted subjects for children.
In addition to exploring and developing personal strengths, letting children learn gifted subjects helps to discover special abilities early and orient suitable future careers, relieve stress, develop positive emotions, and bring many other benefits. For example, learning music helps to enhance memory, logic and creativity. Learning fine arts and crafts trains visual thinking, imagination and aesthetic perception... Learning gifted subjects requires a long-term practice process, helping children form habits of perseverance and discipline. Children can express their emotions and thoughts through art, performance or competition, thereby becoming more confident in communication and life. Therefore, more and more families are investing in their children learning gifted subjects early to help them develop comprehensively.
