Controversy over Baby Monster being voted as an untalented girl group

According to Allkpop, FLASH conducted a poll asking the question: "Which Kpop girl group is the least talented?" And after 500 people sent in their votes, YG Entertainment's rookie girl group, Baby Monster (consisting of 7 members: Rami, Asa, Rora, Ahyeon, Ruka, Pharita, Chiquita), was voted the least talented Kpop group, with 166 votes.

A part-time worker in his 50s commented: "They all look the same and have no personality. They look like people you can see anywhere." A civil servant in his 30s commented: "Their choreography is not synchronized." Another teenager remarked: "They don't have the charm of other groups." While a man in his 70s declared: "Their performance didn't move me."

In 2nd place with 79 votes is aespa (consisting of 4 members: Karina, Winter, NingNing, Giselle), a girl group of SM Entertainment.

A company employee in his 50s commented: "Their songs are all the same, and their live vocals are not good." A freelancer in his 30s said: "They are not very popular. Their choreography seems a bit slow." A professional in his 60s said: "I don't like their vocals. They have nothing unique."

3rd place went to LE SSERAFIM (consisting of 5 members: Sakura , Kim Chae Won, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eun Chae) of HYBE, with 60 votes.

A worker in his 40s commented: "This could be said about all K-pop groups, but their image, music and performance are all the same. I've seen them before. They lip-sync too much." While an office worker in his 20s commented: "I saw them at Coachella and they sang off-key a lot."

However, the results of this poll have angered Korean audiences. On the online community theqoo, a post reporting the poll has attracted more than 72,000 views and nearly 700 comments.

Korean audiences were surprised when two girl groups with talented members like Baby Monster and aespa were voted as the least talented groups.

Their votes were even higher than LE SSERAFIM - a girl group that recently faced a public storm because of their disastrous live performance at the Coachella 2024 music festival.
