Ms. Nguyen Thi Hau regretted not being able to participate because she learned about the contest late and was invited by Tuoi Tre to be a judge. On the occasion of the award ceremony, Ms. Hau told the story of her parents, which moved the attendees.
"Reading the entries, I felt like I was seeing my family's story. From a certain perspective, readers of these articles will also see their own family in them. I judged the entries with the sympathy of the authors," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hau.
Author Doan Khuyen said that she initially wrote "The Love Story of My Parents" for 15,000 words. Then she cut it down to 2,500 words, then "bite the bullet" and cut it down to 1,200 words to fit the contest rules.

Previously, People's Artist Kim Cuong had accepted to attend the award ceremony and launch of the special issue of Tuoi Tre newspaper, however, on the evening of April 25, her heart was tired so she had to apologize and regretfully not be able to meet readers at Book Street.
Artist Manh Dung recalls the day his whole family of 5 artists: artist couple Manh Dung - Thanh Dau, artist couple Hung Tan - Thanh Vy, musician Van Hai in the Southern Opera Troupe took the first ship from Hai Phong to the South.
He clearly remembers that it was the train on May 19, 1975. When the train docked, the artists from the North were overwhelmed with emotion because they had set foot on a new land, the land of origin of the art of reformed opera.
Immersed in the atmosphere of the city in the first days of liberation, the artists were extremely happy and proud to be able to sing and perform for the people of the city. Those unforgettable emotions from the first days have followed them throughout their artistic journey to love and be attached to Ho Chi Minh City as their second homeland.

Artist Mong Tuyen is admired by many readers at Book Street because at the age of nearly 80, she still retains the charm of a talented actress of the reformed opera village and the screen of the past. Mong Tuyen shared that because she was a famous actress before 1975, on the day of liberation, she also had worries, wondering what her new life would be like, would she have food to eat?
However, later Mong Tuyen had the opportunity to work with director Khuong Mi, he explained and analyzed, making Mong Tuyen initially very scared... The Viet Cong later felt that they were also cute and close.
Revolutionary or not, artists are all artists, and they love their profession like flesh and blood. That is the common point that helps artists erase the distance, work together to perform plays to serve the audience in the early days of national reunification.
Therefore, after 1975, in addition to many good roles on the cai luong stage such as Queen Mother Duong Van Nga, Ben Cau Det Lua, Tieng Trong Me Linh, Kieu Nguyet Nga ... Mong Tuyen continued to appear on screen in the films Co Nhip, Trang Giay Trang ...
In particular, she transformed into the character Mai Tram (based on the prototype of Doctor Ngoc Phuong) in the film My Love is really excellent. The role left a deep impression on the minds of many audiences and brought her the Best Actress award at the 6th Vietnam Film Festival.
