Awarding the contest "Pride of Vietnam" and writing political essays to protect the Party's ideological foundation

On the morning of April 26, at the Television Theater, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission coordinated with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to organize the closing ceremony and award ceremony of the online contest "Pride of Vietnam" and the political writing contest to protect the Party's ideological foundation and fight against erroneous and hostile views in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023-2024.

Mr. Pham Tat Thang awarded the First Prize of the Vietnam Pride contest to Ms. Vo Thi Ngoc Anh, teacher of Sao Mai Kindergarten (Lam Dong province) and Ms. Diep Phuong Khanh, lecturer of Da Lat Tourism College (Lam Dong province).

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Pham Tat Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association; Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

The award ceremony is an opportunity to recognize and honor the authors and works that won prizes in the two competitions, thereby continuing to affirm the important role of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation in Ho Chi Minh City. Fighting against erroneous information and views that distort and deny the great victories of the nation in the history of the struggle to build and defend the country since the Party was established and the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

This is one of the practical activities to widely propagate among the Party's reporters and propagandists and all classes of people, especially the young generation, about the significance, stature, and great historical value of the August Revolution and the resistance war against the US to save the country, about the great achievements of the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The 2023-2024 political contest to protect the Party's ideological foundation and fight against erroneous and hostile views in Ho Chi Minh City aims to select outstanding works with high "pen warfare" to serve the propaganda work of implementing Resolution 35-NQ/TW on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against and refuting erroneous and hostile views in the new situation...

As of December 20, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Propaganda Department (Standing Office of the City Party Committee's Steering Committee 35) has received more than 1,500 entries from 27 units and 6 individuals. Notably, there are entries from individuals and units outside the city, with manuscripts written by the authors with great enthusiasm.

The preliminary jury proposed 141 works to be included in the final round. By April 21, the final jury had judged and selected outstanding authors and works to award official prizes, thematic prizes, and promising prizes, and selected outstanding collectives in the contest.

The Organizing Committee awarded two first prizes to the political writing contest to defend the Party's ideological foundation and fight against erroneous and hostile views in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023-2024.

At the closing and award ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates, logos, and Certificates of Merit from the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to authors/author groups with 10 Excellent Collective awards, 4 Promising awards, 8 Consolation awards of 2 categories (Monograph - Magazine and Press - Television), 6 Third prizes of 2 categories, 4 Second prizes, 2 First prizes of 2 categories of the political contest to protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight against erroneous and hostile views in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023-2024.

Over 3 million online entries for the Pride of Vietnam contest

The online quiz contest Pride of Vietnam was jointly organized by the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Central leaders presented flowers and certificates to 10 groups that were active in leading and organizing the Vietnam Pride contest.

This is not only a playground but also a journey to connect national spirit, foster love for the homeland, and foster revolutionary ideals for today's generation.

Ms. Do Phuong Thao - Director of the Department of Information - Foreign Affairs, Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Head of the contest organizing committee - said that during the period from March 8 to March 29, the contest attracted the active participation of a large number of cadres, party members, union members, youth and people from all walks of life.

The contest received more than 1.5 million registrations with over 3 million entries, including more than 1.2 million entries via the Reporter website and more than 1.8 million entries via the Vietnamese Youth mobile app.
