Over 850 officials request accommodation after merging Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces

On the afternoon of May 30, the Standing Committees of the Provincial Party Committees of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces met to listen to reports and inspect the actual arrangement of workplaces at departments and branches after the merger; and the arrangement of accommodation for officials and civil servants from Bac Lieu coming to Ca Mau for work.

Mr. Du Minh Hung, Director of the Department of Construction of Ca Mau province, said that the total number of cadres, civil servants, and public employees of the Party, government, Fatherland Front, and mass organizations of Bac Lieu province coming to work at the new administrative unit is over 1,730 people. Of these, about 790 people requested support for the cost of finding their own accommodation; more than 850 people requested housing and official housing; the rest had no need.

The plan for public housing is divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 from 2025-2026, the total number of accommodations for about 400 people at public housing locations on Ngo Gia Tu Street, the headquarters of the Trade Promotion Center, and the province's public parking area. The backup location is the dormitory area of ​​Ca Mau Provincial Political School.

Phase 2 from 2027 onwards, build a public housing project to invest in upgrading into concentrated areas. It is expected to continue using the public housing area on Ngo Gia Tu street and invest in building more at public parking areas of Ca Mau province.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized that the arrangement of housing for officials and civil servants must be closely linked to the working unit. The motto is to create the most favorable conditions, promote immediate and long-term effectiveness so that officials and civil servants can work with peace of mind and contribute. The competent agencies should develop policies to support funding for finding accommodation and travel expenses to promptly support officials and civil servants working in Ca Mau province (after the merger), in accordance with local budget conditions.
