Gratitude to revolutionary soldiers and meritorious people

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on April 26, Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee organized a meeting to pay tribute to revolutionary soldiers imprisoned by the enemy, veterans, youth volunteers, policy families, and exemplary meritorious people.

Kon Tum province is currently managing and implementing policies for 50,660 people. Thanks to timely and complete implementation of policies, the whole province has more than 99% of households of meritorious people achieving a standard of living equal to or higher than that of the local residents; 100% of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers are cared for and supported by units for life.

In the period from 2013 to 2024, Kon Tum has mobilized more than 33 billion VND to support and build houses for more than 1,200 households of meritorious people. With the spirit of "comradeship", Kon Tum has closely coordinated with provinces in Laos and Cambodia in searching for and collecting martyrs' remains . Thereby, searching for and bringing back to the motherland Vietnam 41 martyrs' remains in 2024.

Speaking at the program, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Kon Tum Province U Huan said that this is an activity regularly organized by Kon Tum Province, with profound meaning to express gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of revolutionary soldiers in the cause of protecting and building the country. The noble sacrifice of soldiers who did not spare their blood and bones is a shining symbol of Vietnamese revolutionary heroism, a source of spiritual strength to encourage today's and future generations.

With the philosophy of “When drinking water, remember its source”, in the coming time, Kon Tum province will continue to promote activities of gratitude, visiting, supporting livelihoods, building houses of gratitude, and providing health care for people with meritorious services and their families to have a better life. At the same time, it is hoped that revolutionary soldiers imprisoned by the enemy, veterans, youth volunteers, families with preferential policies, and outstanding people with meritorious services will continue to promote the qualities of revolutionary soldiers, becoming a “bridge” between the government and the people in the process of integration, economic development, and ensuring security and order in the area.

In the coming time, the Department of Home Affairs of Kon Tum province will continue to thoroughly grasp the guidelines, policies and guidelines of the Party and the State on people with meritorious services; review, evaluate and perfect the preferential policy system in accordance with the practical situation of the locality; increase investment resources for gratitude activities; improve the quality of health care; promote support for housing construction and repair; increase the search and collection of martyrs' remains... Thereby, ensuring that people with meritorious services and their families have a good life, continuing to contribute to the overall development of the whole province.
