In addition to Ms. Phi Yen, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong and leaders of departments also visited and gave gifts to musician Tran Long An.
This is a meaningful activity of the city to honor artists who have made great contributions to the culture and arts of Ho Chi Minh City over the past 50 years.
Artist Phi Yen forever remembers her comrades who sacrificed for the Fatherland
Born into a family with a revolutionary tradition, Ms. Phi Yen also left very early. She joined the Central Office of the South and participated in the Liberation Arts and Culture as a dancer.
Mr. Le Nguyen Hieu, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Dance Artists Association, spoke of her with respect: "After 1975, Phi Yen studied dance formally and systematically, then worked at a dance school. After that, she became the deputy director of the Bong Sen Traditional Music and Dance Theater.
After retiring, we begged her to join the executive board of the Ho Chi Minh City Dance Artists Association.
Anyone who visits Mrs. Phi Yen's private home in An Phu Dong Ward (formerly District 12) will be deeply moved to see that she has a room dedicated to the worship of her fallen Liberation Artists. She arranges and displays documentary photos of her comrades.

A stele is solemnly placed in the memorial grounds of the artist - Liberation cultural soldier who sacrificed his life in the resistance war against America to save the country and died after the war.
Ms. Phi Yen sadly said that many of her comrades sacrificed their lives without their bodies being intact, and their bodies were not even found to be buried. These were people who devoted their youth to the country.
Therefore, she made her own stele, set up an altar with incense, and every year on July 27, she organizes a joint memorial service for the fallen artists and martyrs so that the lucky surviving Liberation artists and artists and today's artists can remember and review the beautiful stories of the deceased, of a time of selfless fighting.

Mr. Cuong hopes that the artists who come before will guide the next generation.
Before visiting artist Phi Yen, the delegation visited musician Tran Long An. In his youth, musician Tran Long An was very active in student movements such as the troubadour movement and the Sing for my compatriots movement.
He is the author of songs that are very familiar to the public such as A Lifetime of a Forest, On the Land of Human Love, Passing Through the Grass, The Mother of the Chessboard, The Flute of Hau Giang ...
Tran Long An was the President of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Literature and Arts Associations and the President of the Vietnam Musicians Association for many terms, and made many contributions to the development of literature and arts in the city. In 2007, he was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts.
When Mr. Cuong visited, musician Tran Long An had just been discharged from the hospital a few days ago. Due to weakness and shock, he had to lie down to receive the delegation.
However, Mr. An seemed very happy to receive the attention of the city leaders. He still talked very clearly and humorously.

He hopes that the two artists will continue to show their love to the next generations who are following in the footsteps of their predecessors, guiding and instructing them to be more steadfast on the path of developing the city's culture and arts.
