The whole province currently has over 75 thousand meritorious people and their relatives enjoying monthly preferential allowances. In recent times, in addition to implementing well the regimes and policies of the Party and the State for meritorious people and policy families, ensuring correctness, sufficiency, timeliness, publicity and transparency, the movement "Repaying gratitude" continues to receive attention from the province, organizing many practical activities, demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" such as: Taking care of and nursing meritorious people; organizing visits and giving gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers, and families of people with meritorious services to the revolution; taking care of and repairing martyrs' cemeteries; organizing candle lighting to pay tribute to heroic martyrs; support for housing construction... Mrs. Tran Thi Doan, Long Hung commune, wife of martyr Tran Dinh Tam, emotionally shared: Receiving 100 million VND in support from the province's Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025, thanks to that, my family was able to build a new, spacious house of 64 square meters to live in. Besides, on holidays and Tet, local leaders always come to visit, encourage and give gifts. The concern and care of today's generation helps my family to lessen some of the loss and pain and feel warmer. That is a great source of encouragement for the family to continue to make more efforts in life.
Comrade Bui Hao Duong, Vice Chairman of Long Hung Commune People's Committee, said: The commune always pays attention to performing well the work of "Repaying gratitude" and considers this a noble responsibility to show gratitude to the merits of war invalids, sick soldiers, and families of people with revolutionary contributions. The locality has organized many activities such as: Promoting propaganda to spread the tradition of patriotism and the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" to all classes of people; organizing delegations to visit and give gifts; organizing cleaning, offering flowers, incense, lighting candles in gratitude at martyrs' cemeteries... thereby contributing to improving the lives of people with revolutionary contributions, relatives of people with revolutionary contributions, and at the same time educating the tradition of patriotism and revolutionary heroism for cadres, party members and all classes of people, especially the young generation.
On this occasion, not only the Party committees and authorities at all levels but also millions of Vietnamese people's hearts turned to Uncle Ho and expressed their deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their youth and blood for the Fatherland in their own ways. Mr. Tran Minh Hoang, Tan Hung commune shared: Being born and raised in peace , being able to study and pursue passion is the luckiest and happiest thing for the young generation. I often spend time visiting red addresses and taking care of graves at the martyrs' cemetery as a way to express my gratitude for the sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Looking back on the glorious history of the nation, especially every time the National Day comes on September 2, gives me more motivation, national pride and determination to devote my youth to contributing, building and protecting the homeland and country.
With all my heart, responsibility and deep gratitude in the work of "Repaying gratitude", I have contributed to improving the material and spiritual life of war invalids, sick soldiers and families with meritorious services to the revolution. Mr. Bui Van Nam, a war invalid in Hoang Hoa Tham commune, shared: I have served in the army for 10 years, and together with my comrades "went through life and death" to participate in the 81-day battle to protect Quang Tri Citadel and to help Laos. In 1977, when I was demobilized and returned to normal life, I always received the attention of the Party committees, local authorities and the people. Not only did I receive full monthly allowance, but on holidays and Tet, the commune leaders came to give me gifts, visit my life and encourage me to take care of my health. Our contributions to the resistance war to protect the independence and freedom of the nation, although a long time has passed, are still cared for by today's generations, which makes me very happy.
At the time when the whole country is looking forward to the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2, the red flags with yellow stars fluttering on every street and every house are not only a symbol of the eternal existence of the Fatherland in the hearts of every Vietnamese but also an opportunity to remind today's generation of the noble and sacred values of national independence and freedom. At the same time, it shows pride and infinite gratitude to the Party, beloved Uncle Ho and the heroic martyrs, those who contributed to the revolution who brought Independence Day to the heroic Vietnamese people.
