The Kiosk for medical examination registration and automatic number issuance using citizen identification cards with chips and facial recognition was installed by the Endocrinology Hospital in the lobby of the Examination Department. By simply pressing the screen, patients can easily receive a queue number to complete the examination procedures. At first, to help people not feel confused, the Hospital arranged medical staff to support and guide people to use the Kiosk model.

Registering for medical examination and treatment using biometrics using a self-service Kiosk is one of 16 models in the group of socio -economic development utilities under Project 06 of the Government, based on the platform of deploying online public service provision, VNeID application and connected to the National Population Database to authenticate citizen information. Instead of having to wait in line, the Kiosk allows patients to self-register and update personal information easily and conveniently. In addition, the Kiosk provides patients with a number of features such as looking up medical information, appointment schedules, health education documents and a number of other services. For medical staff and hospitals, the Kiosk helps increase work efficiency and minimize errors; doctors and nurses can proactively receive information, track patient medical examination history quickly, easily and more conveniently.
Previously, in March 2024, Lao Cai Department of Health coordinated with TAG Technology Solutions Joint Stock Company to introduce the model of Kiosk for medical examination and treatment using chip-embedded citizen identification cards and facial biometrics along with a suitable implementation plan to further improve the effectiveness of Project 06 on digital transformation in the province's health sector.
