Within the framework of the program " Da Nang Cultural Heritage Festival 2025", from November 21 to 28, Da Nang Museum organized the exhibition "Colors of Da Nang Highlands Culture" to introduce to the public the unique cultural features of ethnic minorities living in Da Nang city.

The exhibition displays 50 documentary photos of the Co Tu, Xo Dang, Gie Trieng, Cor ethnic groups... Each photo is a color bearing the mark of each ethnic group in the colorful picture of Vietnamese culture, showing material and spiritual life, including slash-and-burn farming methods, stilt house styles, brocade weaving, knitting, culinary culture, customs, beliefs and festivals...

In the process of production, daily life, and dealing with nature, the people have accumulated many life experiences and created their own unique cultural identities for each ethnic group. These traditional values ​​of the ethnic groups have contributed to enriching the cultural treasure of Da Nang city.

Up to now, many traditional indigenous elements are still preserved and promoted in value such as: Gong performance art, tung tung da da dance art, ly singing, ly speaking, guol house construction architecture (Co Tu ethnic group); pole-raising ceremony and Gu set (Cor ethnic group)... and are listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

Notably, this year, for the first time, the exhibition was simultaneously held at three locations of the Da Nang Museum: 31 Tran Phu and 42 Bach Dang (Hai Chau ward); 78 Le Duan (Hai Chau ward); 281 Phan Boi Chau (Ban Thach ward).

At 31 Tran Phu, the highlight is a series of large-scale exhibitions including: Photo exhibition "Colors of Da Nang Highlands Culture"; traditional costume exhibition with the theme "Color of Thread" introducing about 20 costumes of the Co Tu, Cor, Muong, Ca Dong, Bhnong ethnic groups - thereby helping the public discover the process of creating costumes with strong identities.

Along with that is an exhibition of Co Tu wooden sculptures with the theme "Soul of Wood" with nearly 20 artifacts, recreating the rustic, simple and expressive beauty of folk sculpture art.

At 31 Tran Phu, there will also be a scientific seminar "Mac Canh Huong and the Mac family in Thuan Quang region (1604 - 1802)", to announce new research on local history and culture, contributing to traditional education and heritage preservation.

Meanwhile, the space at 42 Bach Dang is organized as a miniature “cultural village”, where visitors can directly immerse themselves in the artistic and culinary life of the highland people. There will be activities such as: Folk song and dance performances such as tung tung da da dance, bamboo dance, Ca Dong gong dance…

Co Tu - Ca Dong kitchen space introduces traditional cuisine with typical mountain and forest flavors; handicraft and agricultural product space with brocade, wickerwork, and agricultural products produced by the people themselves.

Visitors also have the opportunity to participate in handicraft activities: brocade weaving, knitting, wood carving, making croissants, making Phu Tuc wine, Ca Dong beading... In addition, the game show "Up the mountain, down the street" will create a playground for locals and tourists to exchange and learn about ethnic culture.

At 281 Phan Boi Chau facility, the heritage education program "Cor ethnic cultural heritage" is organized, helping students visit, learn about cultural life and practice drawing and decorating the flagpole, the Gu set - a national intangible cultural heritage.

Along with the series of experiential activities, the event also held a reception and display ceremony for 31 donated artifacts in 2025 at the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum (78 Le Duan).

The artifacts were donated by many domestic and foreign artists and collectors, contributing to enriching the art resources of Da Nang city.
