Major Bui Khac Truong always strives to complete assigned tasks well.

“While driving to transport officers and employees to perform their duties on all roads of Laos, ensuring safety, when stopping the car, Truong actively participates with his comrades in carrying out the task of searching, collecting, and retrieving martyrs’ remains (HCLS). In all tasks, Truong does not shy away from difficult tasks, always takes the lead as an exemplary pioneer, and contributes significantly with the collective of Collection Team 192 to successfully complete the task of searching and retrieving martyrs’ remains in Laos…” That is the comment of Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Chuc, Deputy Head of Collection Team 192, when referring to Professional Military Major (QNCN) Bui Khac Truong.

In 2020, Major Bui Khac Truong was assigned by the head of the Provincial Military Command to take on the task of driving at the 192nd Collection Team. After a period of study and training, he and his teammates marched to Laos to carry out the mission of searching for and collecting Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos to repatriate them to the country during the 2020-2021 dry season.

Major Bui Khac Truong confided: There are trips transporting officers and employees to perform tasks in villages of other countries, the roads are extremely difficult, the road surface is bad, there are many potholes, winding, steep slopes on one side, deep ravines on the other... If you cannot control the steering wheel, cannot control the speed, it is very dangerous; there are some roads that are too difficult to travel, to ensure the safety of people and vehicles, you have to get off and walk hundreds of meters to grasp the situation, and come up with safe driving plans.

"Currently, the sources of martyrs and martyrs' graves in our country are scattered in deep forest areas, high hills, even cars take a whole day to get there, not to mention when it rains, the roads are slippery and difficult to travel, very dangerous. To complete the task of driving our comrades to their destination, before each trip, I always have to check the condition of the vehicle very carefully with my fellow drivers, from checking the engine, brakes, tires to the horn, lights, tarpaulin, gasoline, oil, coolant to see if they are good and complete, because when moving vehicles in the forest, we cannot foresee situations..." - Truong confided.

In addition to successfully completing his driving duties, over the years, Major Bui Khac Truong and his teammates have overcome numerous difficulties in foreign lands to search for, collect and repatriate HCLS to the motherland of Vietnam. Lieutenant Colonel Ho Van Chuc, Deputy Head of Collection Team 192, Provincial Military Command, said: Major Bui Khac Truong is a very important factor of the Team in the search and collection of HCLS over the years. During the missions in the villages, Truong did a good job of propaganda and mobilizing the villagers to provide information. When the Team marched to foreign lands and deployed to carry out the mission, we had to divide into many groups and many directions to survey, gather information and organize the search. The force was thin, so there were times when the Party Committee and the Team Commander trusted Truong to take charge of a direction to carry out the mission.

During several dry seasons participating in searching and gathering HCLS in Laos, Truong and his teammates searched, recovered, and gathered 21 HCLS of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos to repatriate them to the country.

With the achievements in the process of performing tasks, for many consecutive years, Major Bui Khac Truong was awarded a certificate of merit by the Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 4, the Provincial Steering Committee 515; the Provincial Military Command awarded the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level, and the Party Committee of the Political Department awarded a certificate of merit to party members who excellently completed their tasks.
