After 6 days of practical training on the VAR car, steps 3a and 3b, from June 14, a number of referees and assistant referees will move on to the decisive training phase with step 3c - practicing in an unofficial match.
VFF, VPF and the Referee Board are urgently completing training to soon bring VAR to the V-League. |
Over the past few days, 18 referees and assistant referees participating in the VAR training course have been practicing officiating “matches” with VAR in short-term simulated situations to familiarize themselves with the regulations, protocols, and the use of technological devices to analyze situations. The learning process takes place continuously and at high intensity from 8am to 5:30pm every day, to complete the required progress in each training step according to FIFA's requirements.
Some referees who have completed enough exercises in training steps 3a and 3b with low and medium difficulty (5 vs 5 matches in about 10 minutes and 11 vs 11 matches in about 30 minutes) will enter stage 3c with the highest difficulty (full matches in 90 minutes). The first training session was held at Hang Day Stadium at 8:30 am on June 14 with the support of the Hanoi U19 team.
The training session was supervised by FIFA expert Bhaveshan Moorghen. The three referees assigned to practice in this first training session include main referee Mai Xuan Hung, VAR referee Duong Huu Phuc, and VAR assistant Le Vu Linh. In addition, three referees and assistant referees from the Hanoi Referee Board will participate in supporting the match.
According to the roadmap, the class members will continue to complete training steps 3a and 3b, and move on to training step 3c scheduled from June 16, ensuring that each Referee must participate in training at an unofficial match. The entire practice process is recorded (both on the field and in the VAR car) and sent to FIFA daily. From there, the organization's experts will evaluate the overall practice process of each person. VAR will only be officially applied in Vietnam after passing FIFA's strict testing and evaluation steps.
