Speaking at the ceremony, Director Doan Hoang Minh congratulated Mr. Duong Lap on his new position and believed that with his extensive experience in the work, the Consul General will contribute to further promoting the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, especially in the year of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1950-2025), which is also the year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange.
Wishing that the two sides continue to cooperate closely to protect the legitimate rights and interests of citizens of the two countries, the Director of the Consular Department also emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Consular Department and Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs) and other Vietnamese authorities will continue to accompany the Consulate General and create conditions for the new Consul General to successfully complete his term of office in Vietnam.

Thanking Director Doan Hoang Minh for taking the time to receive and present the Consular Acceptance Certificate, Mr. Duong Lap expressed his joy at the positive developments in bilateral relations as well as the honor of being assigned the task at a turning point in Vietnam: Streamlining the political system's apparatus, arranging administrative units and promoting administrative reform.
The new Consul General believes that this will create great momentum for the country's development, open up development space and bring many opportunities for cooperation with other countries in general and China in particular.
At the same time, Mr. Duong Lap affirmed that he will make every effort to promote bilateral relations in many areas of mutual interest, including consular cooperation, economics, trade, science, technology, energy and people-to-people exchanges and travel, thereby contributing to building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
