Mr. Ho Sy Hung was elected to hold the position of Chairman of VCCI for the 2021-2026 term.

(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of November 3, Associate Professor Dr. Ho Sy Hung was elected to hold the position of President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) for the 2021-2026 term. This result was approved at the 11th VCCI Executive Committee Meeting, term VII with 100% of the votes in favor.

On the afternoon of November 3, the Standing Committee of VCCI held the 11th VCCI Executive Committee Meeting, term VII, 2021-2026, to complete the position of VCCI President for the 2021-2026 term.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, VCCI President Pham Tan Cong expressed that this is a special Conference, perfecting the personnel of the head of VCCI.

"Comrade Ho Sy Hung is a capable and experienced person, having held many important positions, having a strong connection and prestige with the business community... he is an important person that VCCI really needs in the coming time, this is an extremely practical choice of the Secretariat. I would like to thank the Executive Committee for accompanying me during my recent work. The completion of the leadership positions of VCCI is necessary to create new momentum in the current period", VCCI Chairman Pham Tan Cong expressed.

Speaking in his new position, the new Chairman of VCCI - Ho Sy Hung expressed his respect and gratitude to the leaders, former leaders and Executive Board of VCCI through the periods, including comrade Pham Tan Cong in his position as Party Secretary, Chairman of VCCI, with his enthusiasm, intelligence and sense of responsibility, he has strived together with the Party Committee, staff and workers of VCCI over the past 62 years to make an important contribution to the development of the business community, building the stature, position and prestige of VCCI today.

The new President of VCCI said that with his knowledge and experience in more than 30 years of working in many different positions, he will constantly strive to learn, improve his working capacity, strongly innovate his thinking and actions, be responsible, thrifty, honest, fair and impartial; be close to, listen to, and accept the opinions and aspirations of officials and businesses; and be dedicated and devoted to work for the sustainable development of the Vietnamese business community and VCCI in the new era.

According to the new Chairman Ho Sy Hung, VCCI and the business community must coordinate, cooperate, and connect closely with management agencies at all levels, contributing to the process of innovating management mechanisms, pioneering in new, key areas, and opening up new markets with great potential. This is also the process of removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses, and the process of supporting and backing businesses to grow and be competitive both domestically, regionally, and internationally.

After the Conference, former VCCI President - Pham Tan Cong and new VCCI President - Ho Sy Hung signed the handover of work.

Party Secretary - Chairman of VCCI Ho Sy Hung was born on April 14, 1968, in Phu Nghia commune, Nghe An province. He joined the Party on December 21, 2020. Mr. Ho Sy Hung studied at the National Economics University, majoring in Material Economics, was recognized with a doctorate in economics, management and planning in 1996, and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2012.

Before being mobilized and appointed by the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central organizations to be the Secretary of the VCCI Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term and elected as Chairman of VCCI, Mr. Ho Sy Hung had nearly 20 years of working experience at the Ministry of Planning and Investment (formerly), including the leadership position of the Department of Enterprise Development, focusing on reforming state-owned enterprises, creating a business environment and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, participating in the development of a number of important laws such as: Law on Enterprises (1999), Law on State-owned Enterprises (2003), Law on Support for Small and Medium Enterprises (2017)...

From September 2018 to February 19, 2025, he was appointed by the Prime Minister as Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises.

Since March 2025, Mr. Ho Sy Hung was appointed by the Prime Minister as Deputy Minister of Finance, undertaking the tasks of policy development and policy implementation direction in the fields of law, accounting, auditing, social insurance, magazines, publishing and training and development of officials. He has directly contributed to the development of legal regulations to remove bottlenecks such as Law No. 90/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Bidding, Law on Investment under the Public-Private Partnership model, Law on Customs, Law on Value Added Tax, Law on Export Tax, Import Tax, Law on Investment, Law on Public Investment, Law on Management and Use of Public Assets, etc.
