Search for a missing fisherman in the Roon River estuary

QTO - Roon Border Guard Station (Provincial Border Guard Command) said that the unit is deploying forces and vehicles, coordinating with local authorities and families to search for fishermen who went missing after waves sank their boat.

Accordingly, at 8:00 a.m. on November 4, the unit received information from the people about Mr. PHQ (born in 1969, residing in Trung Vu village, Hoa Trach commune, Quang Tri province), driving a basket boat on the way to Roon estuary about 70m away, when it was sunk by waves. The unit sent 8 officers and soldiers to coordinate with the locality, family, and fishermen from the villages in the area to organize the search.

Also this morning, the cargo ship HP3835 anchored at Hon La port area broke its anchor and drifted aground on the coast of Hon La island division, Phu Trach commune, with 3 crew members on board to ensure safety. The unit mobilized officers from Hon La Border Control Station to coordinate with the port authority, local authorities and the island division to find a rescue plan.
