Reinforcing our commitment to providing an accredited UK education environment
Phase 2 of the BUV campus started construction in August 2022, with an investment of up to 33 million USD. The total floor area is 16,300 m2, including the Student Center, Food Court and more than 100 classrooms and function rooms. Together with the 52 million USD investment in phase 1 meeting the international 5-star QS standard, BUV's campus can meet the needs of 5,500 Vietnamese and international students.
The complex includes five complex buildings inspired by famous English castles, including Arundel Castle, Belfast Castle, Cardiff Castle, Dover Castle, and Edinburgh Castle.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Training, commented that this event is more meaningful in the context that the Government has been determined to promote the internationalization of education, attract foreign investment and international cooperation in the field of education.
At the same time, encourage universities to invest in both facilities and international standard teaching staff, and expand international training programs right in Vietnam to meet the need for training high-quality human resources for the country's "rising" era.

According to Professor Raymond Gordon, Principal and President of BUV, the ever-expanding 5-star campus has reinforced the university's commitment to providing an accredited British educational environment, aiming to create practical impact, fully equipping young people with the skills and knowledge to succeed in a changing world.
"The event is a new milestone in the vision of positioning BUV as the leading international university in Vietnam and the region," Professor Raymond Gordon emphasized, adding that by 2028, BUV expects to continue expanding phase 3, increasing its teaching capacity to 10,000 students, with a total investment expected to reach 165 million USD.

Enhancing the cooperative relationship between BUV and University of London
Also at the ceremony, BUV received the EDGE Advanced Certification for Phase 2, following the Phase 1 certification in November 2024.
EDGE is an international green building certification developed by IFC - a member of the World Bank. BUV is the first university in Vietnam to receive this certification, aiming to become a pioneer university in reducing carbon emissions to 0 for the operational phase.

The ratio of construction area to landscape area of the campus is only 20%, showing priority for green and open space, establishing a high-quality learning and working environment.
Within the framework of the event, Professor Wendy Thomson - Principal of the University of London officially announced the decision to upgrade the cooperative relationship between BUV and the University of London from a group of more than 100 "Recognized Teaching Centers" to a group of a small number of "International Partners" globally of the University of London.
Professor Wendy Thomson stressed that this title demonstrates the two universities’ shared commitment to pursuing academic quality and graduate quality, while opening up many opportunities for cooperation on a global scale. This is a stepping stone to promote research relationships and knowledge exchange between Vietnam and the UK, contributing to further strengthening international education links.
The University of London is the traditional degree-awarding institution of BUV, under the academic direction of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In the field of Economics & Econometrics, LSE is in the top 7 in the world (THE Rankings 2024), competing with Harvard, MIT and Stanford. To date, BUV remains the first and only university in Vietnam to organize training and award degrees for undergraduate programs of the University of London.

British Ambassador to Vietnam Ian Frew said that this expansion not only improves the quality of training but also strengthens the deep and growing relationship between the UK and Vietnam in the field of education.
Expressing his delight at seeing the University of London continue to commit to recognizing BUV as one of the few international partners globally, UK Ambassador to Vietnam Ian Frew emphasized that this is not only a recognition of the prestigious quality of British University Vietnam, but also reinforces the school's pioneering position in providing world-class education in Vietnam.
Along with the expanded space, BUV's new campus phase meets the "three-legged stool" of design: Optimizing teaching functions, modernizing technology and sustainable development.
In terms of functionality, the two complex buildings integrate a series of modern functional rooms, meeting international educational facility standards. The rooms are classified by function, meeting all needs.
In particular, the large lecture halls can accommodate nearly 300 students, are designed according to the sound and lighting standards of professional event auditoriums, and are ready to serve large-scale events.
Classrooms are arranged in a design thinking style, eliminating the communication boundary between students and the podium, making students the central subject and teachers the companions.
Laboratories and specialized practice rooms are equipped with professional equipment including: high-configuration computers, recording systems, industrial machinery, etc. for each specialty, providing the most realistic learning and practice experience.
In terms of technology, the campus employs modern facilities, including state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, live and online interactive systems, digital platforms and the Internet of Things (IoT) to facilitate new teaching methods; providing students with easy access to academic resources anytime, anywhere and supporting personalized learning.
In terms of sustainability, the new campus achieves impressive figures in energy savings (43%), water savings (40%) and carbon emissions reduction (61%) compared to a conventional university complex according to EDGE assessment.
