Hanoi plans to support nearly 2 million VND in tuition fees each year for private school students.

(Dan Tri) - Hanoi has just announced a draft Resolution of the City People's Council regulating tuition fees and tuition exemption compensation levels for preschool children and primary school students from the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, from the 2025-2026 school year, the expected tuition fee for students from kindergarten to junior high school is 155,000 VND/month. The tuition fee for high school is 217,000 VND/month. If studying online, the fee is 75% of the above fee.

This tuition fee does not apply to the high quality school model.

From the estimated tuition fees above, Hanoi will subsidize tuition fees for private and public school students from kindergarten to junior high school at 155,000 VND/month. Private high school students will receive support of 217,000 VND/month.

With a total study time of no more than 9 months/year, each private school student will receive support of 1.3-1.9 million VND/school year.

Currently, Hanoi has nearly 3,000 schools, of which private schools account for about 20-21% with more than 330,000 students.

At the high school level, private school tuition fees are commonly around 2.5-5 million VND/month. This fee does not include meals, transportation, etc.
