On the afternoon of November 25, after the flood receded, Le Trung Kien High School (Dong Hoa ward, Dak Lak) appeared in a state of disarray and severe damage.

The entire entrance to the school was washed away by water and the school's foundation structure was broken.

The surrounding walls were also collapsed, the campus and classrooms were covered with mud, sticking to tables, chairs and equipment.

The canteen inside the school was swept away and collapsed.

The student's garage collapsed and was devastated.


A series of school and student records, documents, grade books, report cards, and books were submerged in mud and water for many days, causing serious damage.

Throughout the school yard, teachers take advantage of high places to dry each set of documents, trying to salvage what is left.

Mr. Le Tan Dung, Principal of the school, and the school's leadership and teachers are working with the authorities to urgently clean up after the flood.

Although knowing that it is very difficult to recover documents and papers after the flood, the school teachers still patiently separate each page and dry them.

Police, military and students of Pacific University were mobilized with the school to overcome the consequences of the flood.

Soldiers of PK02 Department, Dak Lak Provincial Mobile Police supported teachers to restore books and documents submerged by floodwaters.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thom, Vice Principal of the school shared: "This flood caused serious damage to both local people and the school. Up to now, the school has not been able to fully calculate the damage caused by the flood. Recovery after the flood is very difficult, it cannot be completed in a day or two."

The school has 1,188 students, 27 classes, fortunately all students are safe.
