Friendship School T78 (formerly the Central Mountainous Campus) was established by the Central Party Secretariat on January 1, 1958 based on the guiding ideology of President Ho Chi Minh to help the Lao Revolution train cadres to serve the cause of national liberation and national construction.

Beating the drum to open the school year and delivering a speech at the Opening Ceremony of the new school year, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that, established by Uncle Ho and the Secretariat in 1958, carrying out the special tasks of the two Parties and two States of Vietnam and Laos, over the past 65 years, with the attention and care of the two Parties, two States, Party committees and authorities at all levels, and the support of the people where the school is located, generations of teachers and students of T78 Friendship School have strived, overcome all difficulties, and excellently completed the assigned tasks.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that our Party and State always attach special importance to education, considering it a top national policy and identifying the development of human resources, especially high-quality human resources, as one of the strategic breakthroughs for national development.

The entire political system has always devoted the best to taking care of the education cause, ensuring that all students, whether in the plains or in the mountains, border areas, or islands, can study and have equal access to education. This is the most fundamental foundation to liberate people from poverty and backwardness, to have a prosperous, free, and happy life, and to build a rich and powerful country.

The National Assembly Chairman stated that the 2023-2024 school year is of special importance, marking the 10-year journey of implementing Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW of the Party on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training, Resolution 88 and Resolution 51 of the National Assembly on innovation of general education programs and textbooks. The education sector has strived to synchronously and effectively implement solutions and achieved many positive results.

In the coming time, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that the education sector should continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies on education and training; continue to strengthen education on the nation's historical traditions, culture, ethics, lifestyle, and revolutionary ideals for students; build school culture; strive to successfully complete the goals of the 2023-2024 school year and the 5-year plan for 2021-2026.

"Under the roof of T78 Friendship School, Vietnamese students and Lao students, although coming from many different remote regions, carrying diverse and rich cultural characteristics, please consider this as a common home, all like brothers and sisters of the same family, respecting, loving and supporting each other, helping each other to progress together. I expect and believe that students will continue to promote the tradition of studiousness, "respecting teachers and valuing education", following the previous generations, striving to "study hard and study well" (as Uncle Ho advised when visiting the school's founding), training well, becoming both "red" and "specialized" people, contributing to the homeland and country, fostering the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos", the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.

On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman presented flowers, souvenirs, 10 sets of computers to the school; presented gifts to 10 outstanding students; visited the student dormitory and visited the photo exhibition about the 65-year tradition of T78 Friendship School.
