On the afternoon of October 12, the Principal of Nguyen Van Troi Primary School (Tan Binh District) officially informed about the case of a student being beaten and injured by a teacher during class.

Accordingly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Thanh Tra, Principal of Nguyen Van Troi Primary School (Tan Binh District) said that on October 4, 2023, during the teaching process, teacher NTS, homeroom teacher of class 1/1, had inappropriate behavior that caused injury to a student.

Accordingly, the medical certificate determined that the student had a fracture at the base of the 4th phalanx (right hand).

After receiving information about the incident, the principal, the unions and homeroom teachers directly visited the student's home to inquire about his health and took responsibility for the unfortunate incident.

Currently, the student’s health and spirit have stabilized and he is attending school as usual. The school has resolved the student’s request to change classes as requested by the family, and has temporarily suspended the teacher whose behavior is not up to standard, and fully reported the incident to state management agencies.

Regarding the teachers involved in the incident, Nguyen Van Troi Primary School is reviewing and implementing disciplinary procedures for officials according to regulations, not covering up violations.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 11, representatives of the Department of Education and Training of Tan Binh District and the Board of Directors of Nguyen Van Troi Primary School had a meeting and directly discussed with Ms. VTT, the parent of NTMK, a first grade student of this school, after the incident in which K. was beaten by the homeroom teacher, resulting in a broken finger.

The incident began on the afternoon of October 4th. When he returned home from school, K. told his parents that his right hand was in a lot of pain because his homeroom teacher had hit him on the back of his right hand with a musical instrument that same morning.

X-ray results on the morning of October 5 showed that the child had a fracture at the base of the 4th phalanx of the right hand.

A representative of the Department of Education and Training of Tan Binh district affirmed that the incident will be considered and handled in accordance with regulations on disciplining civil servants, without covering up violations.

On the same day, the Department of Education and Training of Tan Binh District sent a report to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committee of Tan Binh District about the above incident. Accordingly, Nguyen Van Troi Primary School has established a Disciplinary Council to handle teachers according to the Law on Civil Servants, with the participation of parents. Along with that, the principal will meet with the parents' representative board, including the head of the school representative board, the heads of the parents' committees of each class and the parents of class 1/1 to discuss and clarify related contents, avoiding misunderstandings and confusion among parents.

In addition, Nguyen Van Troi Primary School is responsible for providing psychological stability and ensuring continuous learning for students involved in the incident.
