(QBĐT) - Within the framework of the Biodiversity Conservation component of the Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation (VFBC) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), on the morning of August 7, in Phong Nha town (Bo Trach), the VFBC Project Management Board of Quang Binh province coordinated with Fauna & Flora Organization and other agencies, departments and sectors to launch a communication event through the Son Da Coffee model to convey many messages about wildlife protection in the community.
The Son Da Coffee model was deployed from August 7-11, expected to convey the message to more than 2,000 people and tourists visiting and learning in Phong Nha town.

The main message of this communication event is: “Humans come in pairs, wild animals come in pairs; do not eat wild animals, contribute to the good of life”. The goal is to raise public awareness about wildlife protection, join hands to contribute to ending problems related to illegal hunting, trapping, trading and consumption of wildlife products in the province.

Through the model, people and tourists will be invited to participate in interactive activities to learn about wildlife species, such as: Watching videos calling for not consuming wild animal meat; introducing images and information of endangered, rare, and commonly traded and consumed wildlife species, such as: mountain goat, Ha Tinh langur, red-shanked douc langur, hornbill, civet, black bear, three-striped box turtle and wild cats of Vietnam...

Coming to Son Da Coffee model, guests will be encouraged to participate in answering quiz questions with prizes to learn about wildlife species.
This media event is one of the important activities of the project to promote wildlife conservation messages, mobilize the participation of the entire population in reducing the demand for wildlife consumption, contribute to biodiversity conservation and protect the natural resources of two special-use forests, the World Natural Heritage Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park and the Dong Chau-Khe Nuoc Trong Nature Reserve.
