Indonesian media emphasizes close relationship with Vietnam

According to Voice of Indonesia (VOI), speaking at a joint press conference after an official meeting with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Ms. Puan Maharani said that the two sides emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation, as well as supporting the solidity of ASEAN in maintaining peace and stability in the region, through the support of parliamentary diplomacy. At the end of her speech, the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives called on the Vietnamese National Assembly to work together to create peace and prosperity in Southeast Asia, stemming from the strategic role of this supreme legislative body in supporting and guiding the country's foreign policy.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Indonesian House of Representatives Speaker Puan Maharani signed a cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Indonesian House of Representatives.

For his part, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue also recalled the closeness between Vietnam and Indonesia since the time of President Ho Chi Minh and President Sukarno, and expressed hope that bilateral parliamentary cooperation will contribute to further tightening the friendship between Indonesia and Vietnam.

On the same day, news about the results of the official talks between the heads of the Indonesian and Vietnamese legislatures, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parliaments, were also widely reported by many newspapers - such as Detik.com, Tempo.com, Akurat.co, etc. According to these sources, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on parliamentary cooperation between Indonesia and Vietnam will encourage information exchange, consultation, training, capacity building and exchange of visits by parliamentary delegations, and will impact political stability in the region.
