Project 8 is implemented to contribute to changing the awareness and behavior of women and ethnic minority people through communication and propaganda activities, training courses and community events. Finding effective models is not only the task of the authorities but also the responsibility of each member of the community communication team - the core force to spread the message of gender equality widely in life.
Community communication event through the form of a Contest held in 2025.
This year, the communication event was organized in the form of a contest to learn about gender equality; domestic violence prevention; prevention of child marriage and incestuous marriage... to raise awareness for cadres, women's union members, community communication team members and people in ethnic minority areas . Thereby contributing to eliminating gender stereotypes, changing backward customs, building a safe and equal family and community environment.
Ms. Lu Thi Anh Thu, Head of the Propaganda - Legal Policy Department, Provincial Women's Union said: "The contest is not only a playground but also an opportunity for community communication teams to learn, exchange experiences, and practice communication skills. The knowledge that is spread will contribute to promoting changes in awareness and behavior in the community."

The activity also creates opportunities for units to exchange and share effective communication models and solutions, thereby replicating good practices into practice, improving the quality of member activities and propaganda activities at the grassroots level.
Mr. Phung Minh Duong, Party Cell Secretary, a prestigious person, Head of the Community Communication Team of Bao Cha Hamlet, Tan Loc Commune shared: "Participating in the event helps us supplement our knowledge and skills in propagating and preventing gender-based violence, supporting women and children in ethnic minority areas to have a better and more equal life."
The contest has contributed to equipping ethnic workers at the grassroots level with more knowledge in propaganda work on gender equality and domestic violence.
Not only affecting the media, Project 8 also brought about clear changes in family life. Ms. Nguyen Thi Niem (Bao Cha hamlet, Tan Loc commune) said: "Being informed about gender equality, my husband and I share the work, no longer having the ideology of male superiority over female. The family is therefore harmonious, and the children are better cared for."
From the general objective of Project 8, the Provincial Women's Union has proactively diversified the forms of propaganda, bringing gender equality knowledge closer to members and people. Over the implementation period, the project has brought many practical results, contributing to effectively solving urgent issues such as preventing and combating child sexual abuse, early marriage, and incestuous marriage; at the same time, enhancing the position and prestige of the Union in the community.
