From November 15, banks are allowed to deliver and receive gold bars.

QNgTV- From November 15, credit institutions are officially allowed to receive and deliver gold bars according to Circular 33/2025/TT-NHNN. The new regulation amends Circular 17/2014, allowing banks to conduct gold bar transactions with customers with delivery and receipt minutes or confirmation documents, to ensure transparency, traceability and product quality.

Many banks such as Techcombank andACB have prepared to return to gold trading; Techcombank is researching the production of its own brand of gold, while ACB has issued new transaction terms since October 10.

Circular 33/2025/TT-NHNN, which takes effect at the same time as Decree 232/2025 of the Government, has abolished the State monopoly mechanism on gold bar production after more than 10 years. Under the new regulations, the State Bank will grant licenses to eligible businesses and banks to import, produce and trade gold bars, opening up a more transparent and competitive market.
