According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, cold air has affected some places in the Northeast region of the North. The cold air has continuously strengthened, expanding the affected area. Meanwhile, due to heavy rain from tonight (October 30) to November 2, there is a possibility of flooding on rivers from Nghe An to Quang Tri.

In the evening and night of October 30, cold air will affect other places in the Northeast region. After that, the cold air will continuously strengthen, expanding the area of ​​influence to the North Central region, the Northwest region and the Central Central region. On land, the Northeast wind is strong at level 2-3, and in coastal areas at level 3. Due to the influence of cold air combined with disturbances in the East wind zone, there will be rain in many places in the Northeast region.

In the North and North Central regions, the weather is cold, in the mountainous areas of the North, it is cold in some places. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is generally from 18-21 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous areas of the North, it is below 17 degrees Celsius in some places.

Hanoi area has rain, cold weather. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is commonly 19-21 degrees Celsius.

At sea, from the evening and night of October 30, in the Gulf of Tonkin, strong northeast winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts of level 7-8, rough seas, waves 1.5 - 2.5m high; in the northern sea area of ​​the North East Sea, strong northeast winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2-4m high.

Heavy rain continues from Nghe An to Hue

Today (October 30), the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang city has moderate rain, heavy rain, some places have very heavy rain and thunderstorms. It is forecasted that from the evening of October 30 to the end of November 1, the area from Nghe An to Northern Quang Tri will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 200-400mm, locally very heavy rain of over 700mm.

From the night of October 31 to the end of November 1, the area from South Quang Tri to Hue will have heavy rain with common rainfall from 70-150mm, locally very heavy rain over 250mm.

Warning of risk of heavy rain (over 150mm/3h).

In addition, in the evening and night of October 30, Thanh Hoa province, the area from South Quang Tri to Da Nang will have rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 20-40mm, locally over 100mm.

In the evening and night of October 30, in the area from Eastern Quang Ngai to Lam Dong , the Central Highlands, and the South, there will be showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 15-30mm, with some places experiencing heavy rain over 80mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Warning of the risk of heavy rain (over 60mm/3 hours).

Currently, the flood on Thu Bon River, Vu Gia River (Da Nang City), and Huong River (Hue City) is receding. The water level at 2:00 p.m. on October 30 on the rivers is as follows: On Bo River at Phu Oc station is 4.16m, 0.34m below alert level 3; on Huong River at Kim Long station is 3.13m, 0.37m below alert level 3; on Vu Gia River at Ai Nghia station is 9.19m, 0.19m above alert level 3; on Thu Bon River at Cau Lau station is 5.09m, 1.09m above alert level 3.

It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours, flood on Thu Bon River will continue to decrease and be 0.2m above alert level 3; flood on Bo River and Huong River will continue to decrease and be about 0.65m below alert level 3; Vu Gia River will continue to decrease and be 0.2m above alert level 2.

In the next 12-24 hours, floods on Thu Bon River, Huong River, and Bo River will continue to fall and be above alert level 2 by 0.35 - 0.6m; Vu Gia River will continue to fall and be above alert level 1 by 0.6m.

Warning: From tonight (October 30) to November 2, there is a possibility of a flood occurring on rivers from Nghe An to Quang Tri. During this flood, the flood peaks of the upstream Ca River (Nghe An); Ngan Sau and Ngan Pho Rivers (Ha Tinh), Gianh River, Kien Giang River, Thach Han River (Quang Tri) will rise to alert level 2 - alert level 3, some rivers will be above alert level 3, and the downstream Ca River (Nghe An), La River (Ha Tinh) will rise above alert level 1.

The situation of deep and widespread flooding in Da Nang city is gradually decreasing, flooding in Hue city will continue to decrease rapidly in the next 1-2 days; risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, urban areas, and residential areas in provinces from Nghe An to Quang Tri. High risk of flash floods on rivers and streams and landslides on slopes in provinces/cities from Nghe An to Quang Ngai.
