Speaking at the opening ceremony, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture Kuroiwa Yuji expressed his thanks to the leaders of Hanoi People's Committee and the people of Hanoi for supporting and coordinating with Kanagawa Prefecture to organize the grand and meaningful festival.
Governor Kuroiwa Yuji said that since 2015, Kanagawa province and Vietnam have built an extremely good relationship, organizing many cultural festivals connecting Vietnam with Japan in general and Kanagawa province in particular.
Kanagawa Festival 2025 is a meaningful event taking place in the fall. Governor Kanagawa hopes that the Festival will attract tens of thousands of Vietnamese and Japanese people to come together, share and understand more about the cultures of the two countries.

Sharing the joy with the Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that Vietnam and Japan are important strategic partners, with a long history of people-to-people exchanges and substantive cooperation in many fields. On that basis, Hanoi and Kanagawa Prefecture have promoted connections and exchanges through delegation exchanges at all levels and coordinated the organization of cultural and friendship exchange events.
The Vice President shared that the Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi has become a typical cultural exchange activity between Hanoi and Kanagawa province, which is highly anticipated by the people of the capital. It contributes to bringing the image and cultural characteristics of Kanagawa province closer to the people of Hanoi, and at the same time introducing the beauty of Vietnamese culture to Japanese friends.
Vice President Nguyen Manh Quyen believes that, with the foundation of mutual trust and cooperation results that have been affirmed through many Festival seasons, the Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi will continue to make breakthroughs, becoming a symbol of cultural exchange between Hanoi and Kanagawa, making practical contributions to the increasingly deep and substantive friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

As a guest of the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong shared that Kanagawa Festival 2025 is the 6th time the event is held, marking a journey of close and effective cooperation between the Kanagawa Provincial Government and Hanoi Capital, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant agencies of Vietnam.
The festival not only enriches the spiritual life of the people of the capital, but also contributes to strengthening the friendly relationship and development cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange.

Kanagawa Festival 2025 in Hanoi takes place on November 15-16 at Tran Nhan Tong Walking Street - Thong Nhat Park. The event has 35 booths, including 25 commercial booths and 10 food booths, along with a cultural experience area, traditional games, a traditional costume space (yukata), a photo spot with the Torii gate symbol and the "cherry blossom road" - bringing a truly Japanese experience right in the heart of Hanoi.
On the central stage, the audience will be immersed in the Awa Odori festival dance, exchange quizzes about Kanagawa, enjoy art performances by Vietnamese and Japanese artists, experience anime - manga culture, and many activities for families and teenagers. In addition, the booth displaying and introducing typical products, tourism routes, education - study abroad, technology - services of Kanagawa will help the public of the Capital have a more complete view of this land rich in tradition, culture and creativity.
