Final and third place match schedule, May 17
16:00, third place match: China - Iran
19:00, final: Thailand - Japan
In the previous two Asian Women's Futsal Championships, in 2015 and 2018, the Japanese women's futsal team lost to Iran in the finals. Therefore, the team from the land of the rising sun is determined to defeat their opponents in the semi-finals taking place tonight (May 15) in China, to reclaim the "debt" of the past.

Japan's determination was soon evident. In less than four minutes, Japan had already broken through Iran's net twice, thanks to Ikadai in the second minute and Takahashi in the fourth minute.
Conceding two goals too early, the spirit of the Iranian women's players was greatly affected. It was not until the second half (in futsal, each half is 20 minutes, not counting the time the ball is out of play) that the team from West Asia found a goal to reduce the score.
The scorer narrowed the gap to 1-2 for Iran was Torkaman in the 24th minute. That was the situation where the Japanese goalkeeper blocked Khosravi's penalty kick, but had no choice but to deal with Torkaman's rebound.

In the 30th minute, Japan once again restored the two-goal gap. In this phase, Anna Amishiro passed the ball accurately to Yukari Miyahara who finished from close range, scoring a goal to raise the score to 3-1 for the team from the land of the rising sun.
In the 32nd minute, Iran scored another goal, after Torkaman's free kick, narrowing the gap to 2-3. However, that was all the Iranian women's futsal team could do in this match.
Losing 2-3 to Japan, Iran's dominance of women's futsal in Asia officially ended. As for the Japanese women's futsal team, they entered the final against Thailand. Japan has also officially secured a ticket to the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup, taking place in the Philippines this November.
The remaining ticket to the World Cup will be decided after the third-place match between Iran and China on May 17.
