The tournament took place from June 8 to 12 in Batam Island, Indonesia, with the participation of over 200 athletes from countries in the region. This tournament replaced the bodybuilding competition that was removed from the SEA Games 32 competition program at the last minute.
The Southeast Asian Bodybuilding Federation and the World Bodybuilding Federation have made concerted efforts to help athletes have the opportunity to compete in continental and international tournaments with the determination to clean up the sport after recent consecutive doping incidents.
The tournament brings together the top athletes in Southeast Asia.
With the main members being the national team members, plus the participation of many leading athletes from several provinces and cities, Vietnamese bodybuilding excellently completed its mission by winning 9 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals, ranking first in the women's team, men's team and winning first place overall.
Bodybuilder Nguyen Minh My, in addition to winning the gold medal in the men's 80kg bodybuilding category, also won the all-around championship, deserving the title of Most Beautiful Bodybuilder of the tournament.
