USD exchange rate today May 29, 2025 on the world market
The Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the USD against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stopped at 99.48 - up 0.34 points compared to May 28, 2025.

US economic pessimism eased after President Trump decided over the weekend to postpone plans to impose 50% tariffs on imports from the European Union, along with an agreement reached with China earlier this month to lower tariffs imposed by both sides.
“The swift reversal of tariff threats against Europe over the weekend boosted risk appetite and reduced negative sentiment about the U.S. growth outlook, supporting the dollar,” said Karl Schamotta, chief market strategist at Corpay.
Investors are also watching Nvidia’s (NVDA.O) earnings report, due after the U.S. stock market closes today. If the results are positive, that could further boost the dollar as risk sentiment improves, Schamotta said.
The US Federal Reserve (Fed) will release the minutes of its May 6-7 policy meeting today, but there are no big surprises expected. At this meeting, the Fed kept interest rates unchanged and warned of rising risks to inflation and unemployment.
Data showing a strong increase in consumer confidence in the US has reinforced the view that the US economy remains resilient. With no clear signs of a slowdown, the Fed is expected to continue to prioritize controlling inflation in its upcoming monetary policy decisions.
Long-term bond yields fall sharply
The euro fell 0.14 percent against the greenback to $1.1312. Meanwhile, the dollar rose 0.33 percent against the Japanese yen to 144.8.
