U23 Vietnam qualified for the 2024 U23 Asian Cup the earliest

Vietnam U23 qualified for the 2024 AFC U23 Championship after defeating Guam U23 and Yemen U23. As of the end of the second round, no other teams have qualified. The list of 16 teams participating in the new final round includes host Qatar U23 and Vietnam U23.

There are many teams that have achieved a perfect record after 2 matches like U23 Vietnam. U23 Jordan, U23 Japan, U23 Uzbekistan, U23 Iran, U23 Iraq, U23 Kuwait, U23 Thailand, U23 Malaysia and U23 Saudi Arabia all have 6 points. Many of these teams have scored over 10 goals against their opponents to create a high goal difference.

Perhaps this is also the reason why U23 Yemen players collapsed on the field crying after the regretful loss.

Since they are certain to qualify, Coach Troussier may change the squad to give his players more opportunities to compete and continue to experiment with personnel and playing style. In the final match, U23 Vietnam will face U23 Singapore.

"I can give opportunities to players who have not played much in the next match. If we want to go far, we cannot rely on the 11 players who started today or the 23 players in this qualifying round. U23 Vietnam has many other players. I will create conditions for them to play," said coach Troussier.
