Bac Ninh People's Committee reviews Lao Cai-Hanoi railway route

On the afternoon of April 10, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong chaired a conference to review the route of the section passing through Bac Ninh province under the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project.

Conference Overview

The total length of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line is about 390.9 km; there are 18 stations, 13 technical stations, 2 repair stations... The project passes through 9 provinces, with a total investment of more than 203 trillion VND in phase 1. The section passing through Bac Ninh province is about 2.03 km in Tu Son city and Thuan Thanh town. Of which, the starting point is in Chau Khe ward (Tu Son city), the ending point is in Song Lieu commune (Thuan Thanh town); there is Yen Thuong station in Yen Thuong commune (Gia Lam, Hanoi) and Chau Khe ward. The preliminary site clearance area (dual track completion phase) is about 12.208 hectares, with a cost of more than 192 billion VND; resettling about 88 households, including 20 households in Thuan Thanh and 68 households in Tu Son. Overall project progress, feasibility study report to be prepared in 2025; completion at the latest in 2030.

Based on the presentation of the consulting unit, the Railway Project Management Board ( Ministry of Construction ), and localities, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong agreed on the route of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project approved by the National Assembly; at the same time, he affirmed that the province is always proactive and ready to accompany the units to effectively implement the project. He assessed that the contributions are very practical and highly feasible. Currently, the relevant units and localities have coordinated to implement the steps in the compensation and resettlement support work of the project. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Railway Project Management Board to update the completed works and submit them to the competent authority for approval and supplementation of the project; Review the workload related to the province, promptly inform the locality of the adjustments to the project route to facilitate Bac Ninh in compensation and site clearance. In the process of organizing and directing the implementation, if there are any changes, the new direction requests the Railway Project Management Board to proactively coordinate and discuss with the Investor. (Transportation and Agriculture Project Management Board). On that basis, the specialized agency advises and reports to the Provincial People's Committee for timely decisions and adjustments. In case there are no changes, the Railway Project Management Board is requested to promptly inform the district and town levels, minimizing changes in the organization and implementation.
