The Project on Preserving and Promoting the Value of Intangible Cultural Heritage “Cham Pottery Art” (hereinafter referred to as the Project) was assigned to the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts in Ho Chi Minh City as the consulting unit. The content of the Project includes the main parts: Practicing the art of pottery of the Cham people in Ninh Thuan; Deploying the national action program on urgent protection of the art of pottery of the Cham people in the period of 2023-2026 and the following years; System of solutions for implementing the project and organizing the implementation. Currently, the consulting unit is conducting a survey of the Project, collecting opinions from experts, and developing detailed content; at the same time, integrating the basic content of the Project on Preserving and Promoting the Value of Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Art of Pottery of the Cham people in Bau Truc of the People's Committee of Ninh Phuoc district into the Project.
Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.
Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCT) to urgently organize a workshop to collect extensive opinions from relevant departments, branches and units according to regulations; at the same time, promote the completion of the Project to mobilize resources from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In particular, the consulting unit needs to determine a specific roadmap for each content of the Project, determined to complete the requirements and commitments to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and UNESCO by 2026, and soon receive the UNESCO certificate honoring "Cham pottery art on the List of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection".
