Over 10 years of implementing the Action Month for the Elderly, all levels of the association in the province have focused on mobilizing resources to support and help the elderly in especially difficult circumstances in the province in a practical and effective manner.
The Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam in 2025 has the theme "Promoting the role of the elderly in the new era of national development", many activities to support the elderly have received attention and support from all levels, sectors, agencies, units, businesses, philanthropists and the whole society; encouraging the protection, care and promotion of the role of the elderly.
According to the report of the Provincial Elderly Association, after the merger, the whole province now has over 285,000 elderly people; of which there are nearly 244,000 elderly members. The elderly are not only a solid spiritual support for their children and grandchildren, but also the ones who inspire patriotism, preserve national identity, and accompany the younger generation in the journey of building the country.

Implementing the Plan of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of "Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam", the Provincial Elderly Association has called on agencies, units, businesses, organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to support a total budget of nearly 300 million VND to organize activities to visit and give gifts, support building and repairing houses for elderly members in especially difficult circumstances, single, homeless. Many activities have been implemented such as propagating policies and laws on the elderly, communicating to respond to population aging; organizing visits, giving gifts, encouraging poor elderly; mobilizing organizations, individuals, and businesses to support elderly people to start businesses, develop production and business; develop the Care Fund and promote the role of elderly people at the grassroots level.
The family of Mr. Tran Van Son, 68 years old, in village 2, Dray Bhang commune has 5 members, is a poor household in the commune, he himself is in unstable health, economic difficulties, for many years the family has had to live in a temporary house but has not been able to repair it. In response to the difficult situation of Mr. Son, responding to the movement "Eliminate temporary houses, dilapidated houses" launched by the Prime Minister and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and continuing to care for and support the elderly, recently, the Agricultural Bank Insurance Joint Stock Company, Dak Lak branch (ABIC) accompanied Dray Bhang commune to support the cost of building a house for the family. The house is 70 m2 wide with a cost of nearly 200 million VND, of which ABIC supported 50 million VND, the rest was contributed by family and relatives.
On the day the groundbreaking stone was laid for the house, Mr. Tran Van Son and his wife were emotional: "I have lived to this age, now I can build a decent house. To settle down and have a good career, my wife and I will try to live a healthy life to be a support for our children and grandchildren."
In the coming time, the Provincial Elderly Association will continue to arrange, consolidate, and build association organizations according to a new model, ensuring comprehensive strength and close ties with residential areas; Elderly Associations at all levels must truly be core organizations, a solid spiritual support, and a common home for the elderly in the whole province. For many years, Mr. Hoang Van De, 68 years old, an elderly person in Tran Phu quarter, Tuy Hoa ward has always actively encouraged people to participate in movements launched by the locality. He and other members have mobilized contributions to build an association fund of over 115 million VND to help 10 members in difficulty borrow capital to increase their income. Mr. De shared: "Now, the lives of the elderly have changed according to the trend of the new era, we always try to care for the lives of members".
Ms. Hoang Thi Luan, 79 years old, in Buon Ma Thuot ward said: "Currently, we all know how to use Zalo and Facebook to exchange, grasp information about the association, visit each other, reducing the need to travel. Thanks to social networks, the gap between generations is gradually narrowing, we have the opportunity to understand more about the lifestyle of our children and grandchildren, from there we can share, accompany and sympathize better."
