In a statement, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on the Belarusian military to cease hostilities and withdraw from the border area. Ukraine said the Belarusian forces included special forces and former Wagner mercenaries, along with tanks, artillery and air defense systems.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said earlier that Ukraine had mobilized more than 120,000 troops to the border and deployed nearly a third of its army along the border with Belarus.
Ukraine asserts that it has never and does not intend to carry out any hostile actions against the people of Belarus.
Ukrainian authorities have warned that if the border is violated, they will use all necessary measures to defend themselves, and all Belarusian military facilities and supply routes will become legitimate targets of the Ukrainian armed forces.
On Monday, Belarus said it was sending aircraft, air defense forces and armored vehicles to the border with Ukraine.
