Hong Ly is one of the rare craft villages that still preserves the quintessence of traditional silk weaving.

During the golden age of silk weaving, Hong Ly and Hong Xuan communes had hundreds of hectares of mulberry plantations, attracting thousands of households from the two cooperatives Hong Xuan and Tam Tinh to participate in production.

Associated with growing mulberry and raising silkworms, every 2-3 households usually form a silk reeling group, spinning silk after producing cocoons, so the craft village is always bustling, the mulberry fields are always green and the charcoal stove for silk reeling is always red hot.

Reeling silk has many stages and is very hard work. While the silkworms are making cocoons, the breeder must watch for gentle sunlight so that the cocoons are dry and fragrant, so that when reeling the silk the cocoons do not dissolve, producing golden silk threads. As a result, the silk threads woven are all golden, hard and strong.

Through many ups and downs, the silkworm farming profession, the people of Hong Ly commune are still determined to preserve it. The dream of keeping the flame of the traditional profession of their ancestors, turning the silkworm farming and cocoon spinning village of Hong Ly into a destination on the Vietnamese tourism map is gradually being realized by the people as well as the local government./.
